By the passing of time the technology on jet are get changes very fast and the capability of jets are also increases by generation. still the human are in the 6th generation of fighter jets. lets discuss about them.

1st generation fighter jet.

First generation aircraft are the first attempt at creation of fighter aircraft using jet engines. A few were developed during the closing day of World War II and show very limited combat operation.

Special Features:

These aircraft have no any special features. They are only made for replacing the piston engine aircraft in wars.

They are mainly two types.

1st slower aircraft with straight wings common to WW II era fighter such as the GLOSTER and METEOR

meteor

2nd mature swept wings design such as the F-86

F-86

2nd generation fighter jet.

2nd generation fighter jet are mainly developed between 1950s to 1960s

The development of 2nd generation fighters was shaped by technological breakthroughs, lesion learning from the Korean War, and a focus on conducting operation in a nuclear warfare environment.

Special Features:

1. Swift wings

2. Range detecting ( only using radar )

3. Infrared missiles.

Examples:

F-8 Crusader (USA)1957, F-101 Voodoo (USA)1957, MIG-21 (Soviet Union)1959, Lightning (Britten) 1959

F-8 Crusader (USA)1957

3rd generation fighter jet.

3rd generation fighter jet are mainly developed between 1960s to 1970s.

These are the manly maturation of 2nd generation and addition of innovation. These are the mainly develop for more compatibility, traditional ground attack capability and dog fighting.

Special Features:

1. Supersonic speed

2. Pules radar

3. Able to shoot at target beyond visual range.

Examples:

Northrop F-5 (USA)1962, Sukhoi Su-15 (Soviet Union)1965, Fiat G.91Y (Italy), MIG-23 (soviet Union) 1971

Northrop F-5

4th generation fighter jet.

4th generation fighter jets are manly developed during the 1960s to 2005s

Fourth-generation designs are heavily influenced by lessons learned from the previous generation of combat aircraft. Long-range air-to-air missiles, originally thought to make dogfighting obsolete, proved less influential than expected, precipitating a renewed emphasis on manoeuvrability.

Special Features:

1. Pules-Doppler radar.

2. High manoeuvrability.

3. Look-down.

4. Shout-down missiles.

Examples:

F-16 Fighting Falcon (USA)1978, MIG-29 (Soviet Union)1983, Mirage 2000 (French)1984, Eurofighter Typhoon (Europe Union)2003

F-16 Fighting Falcon

5th generation fighter jet.

5th generation fighter jets have been developing since 2005s and it is continue up-to 2025s.

Fifth-generation jet fighters are controversial and vague, low-probability-of-intercept radar (LPIR), high-performance airframes, advanced avionics features, and highly integrated computer systems capable of networking with other elements within the battlespace for situation awareness.

Special Features:

1. All-aspect stealth with internal weapons

2. Extreme agility.

3. Integrated avionic

4. Full sensor fusion

5. Super cruise

Examples:

F-22 Raptor (USA)2005, Su-57 (Russia)2020, F-35 Lightning II (USA)2015, Shenyang J-31 (China)2020, 6th generation fighter jet.

F-35 Lightning II

6th generation fighter jets are now in developing stage they are may be in operation after 2025s.

A sixth-generation jet fighter is a conceptualized class of fighter aircraft design more advanced than the fifth-generation jet fighters that are currently in service and development. Several countries have announced the development of a sixth-generation aircraft program, including the United States, China, United, Kingdom, Russia, Italy, Sweden, Japan, Germany, Spain, Taiwan, France and India.

Special Features:

1. Stealth

2. Modular Design

3. AI-Controlled Mission

4. Swarming Tech

5. Battlefield data fusion

6. Directed Energy Weapons

Examples:

Mikoyan MIG-41 (Russia), F-X PCA (USA), J-50 (China), F/A-XX (USA)

F/A-XX
