Like in the A-ha song, the summer has moved on, and it is a clear message for many companies to get back to work. But sometimes it’s not as easy as it sounds, and finding the right mood to get back on track to work may take a while. It is also one of the best ways for personal and professional growth, staying up-to-date with modern technologies, and some great networking opportunities.

Luckily, there’s a ton of events that are permeated with a laboring spirit that will set you up with ideas and energize you for the upcoming year cycle. These conferences are densely fit into a narrow time gap, so you will get to pick only those that match in terms of your specialty, schedule, and price.

Here’s the list of IT events to keep your eyes on in the upcoming season:

Expo Nordic

The event also provides leadership and business insights from well-known brands and independent representatives. Expo Nordic can boast an exhibitor list that includes Cisco, Slack, and Yamaha but the speakers are even more impressive. The event will feature representatives from IBM, Google, Oracle, Formula 1, Amazon Web Services, and Github who will share their precious expertise and advice on how to handle business and maintain its growth.

Gartner Digital Workplace Summit

When: Sep 24–25, 2018

Where: London

Price range: €2,700 — €2,125

Yet another event from this lovely company; however, this time it’s focused towards high-tier labor instead of head executives. Architects, digital workplace leaders, IT and application leaders are very much welcomed to this venue. Powered by the deep knowledge of every tech-related industry, Gartner is a fine option for adding structure to projects of any scale so they go in the right direction. This event is more about increasing employee engagement and implementing a consumer-oriented approach to make your digital workplace a striking success.

Likewise, its peer, Gartner Digital Workplace Summit does not rely on invited guests or exhibitors, only inbound head researchers and analysts will run the event. Gartner’s worldwide recognition among numerous companies is what creates a prestige level enough to attract the audience for precious expertise.

EuroFinance

When: Sep 26–28, 2018

Where: Geneva

Price range: €2,095

If you think about treasury, there’s a good chance Switzerland is involved. True to that thought, the best event for that matter will be held in Geneva and is aimed at CFOs, corporate treasurers, and finance directors who wish to inherit hands-on experience in risk management and define which fintech area fits their business the most. The speakers will reveal cutting-edge content and real-life case studies about the importance of keeping the treasury relevant and the ways to keep it stable despite external factors.

More than 185 speakers and 100 exhibitors will highlight the trending topics of blockchain, open banking, and FX payments. You will get to know how companies like Uber, Deutsche Bank, BNP Paribas, SWIFT, and Amazon constantly evolve at managing their finances and gain an advantage by implementing breakthrough technological solutions.

IT Arena

When: Sep 28–30, 2018

Where: Lviv, Ukraine

Price range: $150 — $450

Arguably the largest Eastern European event, IT Arena is a 3-day event that will be held in the same venue that hosted Eurovision 2017 in Lviv. This year, it will feature more than 2,800 participants and 90 speakers from well-known brands such as Facebook, Tesla, Yelp, Google, Samsung, eBay, Oracle, SAP, Grammarly, and many others.

With a vast focus towards networking, the whole event will be divided into 4 major parts: business, technology, products, and startups. The last segment, however, will receive special treatment — there will be a startup alley that will exhibit the best products from Eastern Europe. The battle between startups will also take place and decide which of the early-stage projects deserves the prize for their efforts. Futureland, on the other hand, will be responsible for the leisure part of the event and will present an intriguing fusion of technology and music.

PayExpo

When: Oct 9–10, 2018

Where: London

Price range: TBA

As the name speaks for itself, this fintech conference is set to explore the new ways to implement payment systems. It is a common ground for payment leaders to showcase and explore the opportunities of monetizing business and explaining how to merge already-existing platforms to cross-function between each other.

More than 60 exhibitors will share their views on how to treat the payment ecosystem and the need to constantly evolve in that area in order to stay at the forefront of the financial realm. PayExpo can boast a solid speakers’ lineup that will feature representatives from Barclays, Kinguin, Santander, and Facebook who are surely proficient in how to keep their monetary system lucrative.

World Summit AI

When: Oct 10–11, 2018

Where: Amsterdam

Price range: €399

As it stands from the title, artificial intelligence will be the primary focus of the event and how it can satisfy the needs of modern business. But not only is AI now an integral part of countless ventures, it’s now an independent ecosystem with core elements: startups, enterprise, science, big tech, and investors.

For 3 days in Amsterdam, the conference will bring together many and establish how AI is already reforging businesses, groundbreaking advances in the area, bias towards the technology and ethical aspects, successful startups who use the AI, new disruptors, and how to attract investors to your ventures.

You will get to learn from Google, Amazon, IBM, and Facebook representatives about how to implement AI and join workshops to grasp the idea of making AI things yourself. And of course, the event is completely open to networking possibilities as well as joining the after-party, featuring DJ Sleeper.

GDG DevFest

When: Oct 12–13, 2018

Where: Lviv

Price range: $90 — $150

Held in an Eastern European den of technology, Lviv, this conference is a great place for gathering all sorts of developers who are eager to improve their skills in Web, Android, and Cloud technologies. For two days, you will be able to be a part of terse techno sessions, participate in workshops, and of course, perform networking with the other 1,000+ attendees if needed.

Having representatives from many national Google departments is what made this event recognized as a “Google I/O of Ukraine.” And rightfully so, as there will be more than a dozen Google speakers, not to mention Uber, HiRez, Slack, and Amazon delegates to share advice and views on how the future of technologies will shape up.

Web Summit

When: Nov 5–8, 2018

Where: Lisbon

Price range: €550 — €4,995

A truly huge event, Web Summit is widely recognized as the biggest tech conference on the planet. It is projected to have more than 70k attendees and 1,200 speakers, and given its magnitude, it’s hard to relate this event to anything more specific than the realm of IT itself. You can basically find any technological area you wish, just choose the right booth, whether it’s AI, startups, IoT, or whatever you wish to explore. Despite somewhat costly ticket prices, lots of discounts are in place for women, students, and other social groups.

Arguably, the guest roster is what makes the event so special. You may meet many speakers who are celebrities, sportsmen, and politicians and who have invested in cutting-edge technologies — Bono, Wladimir Klitchko, the President of Portugal, and others. But clearly, the main gem is the IT moguls who attend this conference each year. Unlike other venues, this one presents the actual CEOs instead of mid-tier executives from companies such as Microsoft, eBay, Samsung, IBM, Twitch, Google, and approximately 250 other notable speakers. The exhibition area is no different and introduces the same industry giants plus many non-IT companies such as Mercedes-Benz, Airbus, Siemens, and BNP Paribas.

The X1 Group team will definitely visit WebSummit to grow as professionals and meet some of the best in the industry. If you are interested in meeting us, drop a line to vbykanov@x1group.com or mbrazhnykova@x1group.com.

Unlike other conferences, Gartner doesn’t rely on invited guests but is instead a company that consults their clients on a regular basis with their own experts. It is commonly named as the biggest event for senior managers and rightfully so — Gartner business research is constantly quoted by every major media outlet.

Visitors will receive valuable information about machine learning, blockchain, IoT, AI and how these areas will shape up from the business perspective. Management techniques will also be unveiled featuring ideas about connections between technology, life, business, and leadership. This will include practical solutions for adding the most value to your business by comparing game-changing technologies and deciding which of them are the most applicable in the modern market. And, of course, networking will always be available for attendees in a face-to-face environment.

When: Oct 30–31, 2018

Where: London

Price range: £450 — £3,200

NOAH is right to be called a business magnet. With a vast focus towards financial affairs, this event is a proven hub for all kinds of founders, CEOs, investors, and advisors, given how prevalent this audience was at NOAH’s previous event in Berlin. It is a marketplace that helps companies expose their ideas and enable funding at any production stage.

The new conference app and an advanced matchmaking system will allow for seamless cruising over the spacious halls and adjusting your schedule beforehand. 1800+ attendees will access more than 180 company presentations, including a standalone Startup Stage. You will get to meet the head executives from Amazon, Credit Suisse, Accenture, Kreditech (our longtime friends,) and Siemens who can share their expertise and success stories of keeping the businesses booming over the decades. Major media outlets will also create some buzz thanks to TechCrunch, Bild, Bloomberg, and companies like Audi, BMW, and Bayer are the clear indicator why this event should be attended by any sort of entrepreneurs.
