Monopolist is the world's first blockchain-based rendition of the famous monopoly board game, where players compete with each other through the randomized probability of dice rolling, investing in buying land, and building various properties to collect fees.
The origin story :
In the 1920–30’s an activist by the name of Elizabeth Magie invented The Landlord’s games, the original and the game that preceded what is now the world's most played game the monopoly.
In the original monopoly, the inventor wanted to illustrate the dangers of land grabbing and the potential monopolies it created. The landlord games was designed to sensationalize and dramatize the many dangers of monopolizing land and resources. The famous Parker Brothers acquired The landlord games from Elizabeth Magie in 1935, inspired by the inventor’s invention. Parker brothers started selling The Monopoly, the success of monopoly dwarfed its predecessor The landlord games, and was eventually decommissioned in 1939.
Monopoly has been successful and endured the test of time due to its classic gameplay and its ability to appeal to the younger generations, their parents grandparents alike.
In The Monopolist Realm, the strategy mirrors the original mechanics from the vision of the early creators with a modern twist and play to earn elements. The blockchain game version comprises dice rolling to determine how many steps to take on the board, investing in buying multiple resources such as land, and collecting fees when your opponent lands on your resources. The monopolist takes it a bit further with play to earn components and a marketplace where users can buy and sell in-game assets.
Monopolist plans to push the boundaries and potential of the classic game we all know and love. One way they are doing this is by integrating a dual utility token, the $MONO and the $ MOB, in the game. $MOB can only be earned from winning the game, thus swapping your $MOB for $MONO tokens.
