If you’re looking for a job or trying to hire talent, you’ve definitely come across Welcome To The Jungle (WTTJ). In just a few years, the platform completely transformed the employer-branding game. Its unique approach appeals to startups, corporates and… investors! We’re very excited to announce our support to WTTJ in this €7 million round, along with our friends at BPI and fellow business angels. Off to new territories!

EMPLOYER BRANDING IS A SPORT, AND A ROUGH ONE

Qualified talent is scarce these days. To become (and remain) attractive, businesses are forced to get creative and up their employer branding strategies. 10 years ago, employer branding was a concept more than anything: not to be taken too seriously. But tension has arisen since, as startups, pure players and corporates fight for the talents that will give them an edge in the technological race. Not to mention, the companies who struggle to enter the digital age.

Great talents won’t just come to you anymore, whatever the status and aura of your business. I know for sure, we’ve been there like everybody else in the industry. And the same goes with the startups in our portfolio. If you don’t sell your company, the job and the work-environment, you might still attract talents. Not the best, however. So, what do we do? We work hard to look our best and remain attractive. HR is asked to contribute to the war effort, to adapt and prepare the culture fit. And for that they need amazing content.

YOU NEED TALENT. WHAT ARE YOUR OPTIONS?

  • We rule out exec research firms and job boards, they will do little or nothing for your employer branding.
  • LinkedIn offers good opportunities, with career pages and branding, however limited in personalization and very expensive.
  • DIY: more and more HR teams start working on their own marketing and content, relying on dedicated teams.

WTTJ combines the best of both worlds, combining great tools with a one-of-a-kind content building strategy. It’s perfectly suited for startups and attracts all the corporates who need to play on their turf.

A CONTENT-FUELED MARKETPLACE

  • “WTTJ produces content for its clients, so it’s a media, right? “. No it’s not.
  • “OK, a content agency ?”. Nope.

WTTJ’s model is a marketplace. One that is fueled by lots and lots of [great] content, but still a marketplace. Videos, pics, and interviews, all formats are used the best of their potential to maximize attractiveness. Bertrand, the co-founder with Jeremy, is a master at this art.

If you follow-us, you probably know that we love marketplaces. LaRucheQuiDitOui, OuiHelp, Evaneos, LeCollectionist, Zenchef, etc. In all those successful startups, great technology is here to back the service. And the model is such that the more a marketplace has to offer, the better it goes. For now, WTTJ serves the digital, financial and luxury industries. With the money raised it will soon be able to clear new territories.

THE LEADER TAKES IT ALL

We like to put our money on leaders, as they tend to take it all when it comes to marketplaces. Welcome To The Jungle’s edge on the competition comes not only from its creative and business skills, or the technology, but from its capacity to orchestrate a very complex platform. Website management, content production, marketing & talent management: few companies can operate such complexity while delivering seamless and personalized experience. This fact itself (WTTJ’s unique ability to deliver a global service), is a serious entry barrier for any competitor. It will help Jeremy & Bertrand keep ahead on their market. But what impresses most is how their brand became a standard for the industry — the kind of brand their clients would dream to build for themselves.

OFF TO NEW JUNGLES!

On the tech side: WTTJ relies on a proprietary applicant tracking system, which they will strengthen and make more competitive until it becomes the best solution on the market. We will bring them our expertise in Saas (think ABTasty, Odoo, Zenchef…) to make sure it grows steadily to become the strong, software-equipped marketplace that it is destined to be. I’m also very excited to open the doors of the German ecosystems, Berlin and Munich in particular, where the business will thrive.

But hey, Jérémy, Bertrand, who’s Axel and who’s Slash ? Any way, Welcome to the jungle ! ;)
