Have you ever wondered “What if ChatGPT could deploy its own token?”. If you had then your fantasies have come alive. An Ethereum developer programs AI-generated memecoin named “AstroPepeX” and it has already been traded on a handful of DEX and CEX.

The token is based on ERC-20 protocol with a ticker name of APX. X.com user CroissantETH gives a detailed process on how he integrated ChatGPT into a custom application using OpenAI’s API. The developer managed to get ChatGPT to be able to deploy smart contracts on the Ethereum network after feeding it data on the top 10,000 traded tokens on Uniswap.

The shortcomings of ChatGPT’s initial attempts at names for its ERC-20 coin were also discussed by CroissantETH. The developer came up with the idea to use information from the most popular Uniswap tokens to provide the huge language model a more realistic output. CroissantETH addressed ownership of the private keys and the contract with a solution that excluded any human participation in order to verify the token was created exclusively by GPT prior to launching the contract.

“Once the contract is deployed, ownership is immediately revoked and 100% of the tokens are added alongside 2 ETH to liquidity on Uniswap upon creation.”

Cointelegraph verified that APX tokens had actually been added to centralized exchanges like Bitget, MEXC, and LBank as well as decentralized financial platforms like Poloniex using beta access to Nansen 2’s blockchain research tools. Data from Etherscan reveals that there are now over 2,300 APX holders that have carried out over 17,700 transactions since the token mint on Sept. 20.

What are you view on these kind of token? Do you believe memecoins like these will add any value to the existing crypto community?
