An incredible amount of hours went into organizing our Hackathon and Conference and it was all worth it! Even as Xend Finance had a busy product schedule to close out Q4 2021, we were able to successfully launch and wrap-up the largest blockchain Hackathon in Africa’s history: Xend Finance DeFi Hackathon 2021 — Decentralizing Africa and Beyond.

Kicked off with a keynote from Mike Novogratz, CEO of Galaxy Digital, and featuring a number of amazing panel and workshop speakers over the course of three months, we learned right alongside our Hackathon participants and viewers.

We want to give a special thank you to our judges, who understand the importance of giving African entrepreneurs and developers a platform to showcase their talents to the world. Also, for taking time from their very busy schedule. Typically, the African region has a more difficult time attracting investors and press attention and we aim to change that!

Thank you to the our judges:

Using a cumulative scoring average, we have our top three startup winners, including a community vote winner. You can catch the complete closing ceremony and winner’s announcement on YouTube below, featuring statements from each of our winners:

Here we go with the Judges’ Winners, starting with #3.

We also want to thank all of the speakers, sponsors, and participants for their support in making the Hackathon a rousing success.

We’re already looking forward to this year’s Hackathon in less than nine months! In the meantime, if you’re a developer looking for more exposure and investment, feel free to apply to Xend Launchpad. Powered by Xend Finance, this launchpad gives exposure to African ecosystem projects and connects them with power brokers around the world.

Thank you!
