A tortured genius. A broken dream. A free spirit floating in a forbidden time.

Her childhood dream was to become the first black pianist in Carnegie Hall. Due to the pressure of poor life, she has to support her family by playing in night clubs all night long which paved her way to the blues and jazz path.

A rich deep voice. So different. It draws you in.

A husband who manages her music career. You are at the peak of your career.

Born in a turmoil time, you found freedom in your voice that lends into the civil rights movement. You mingle with artists, writers, historians, politicians, advocates and you get the nourishment of supporting your people in finding the ultimate freedom and your voice is their inspiration, comfort, and the manifestation of great resolve.

Domestic violence. Child abuse. Mental health issues. Your life was a downward spiral. Your soul scrambles.

Maybe your spirits belong to a different world and a different time.

Thank you for baring your souls to the world. A world that does not understand your heart.
