At XOCIETY, we’re forging a bold new path in gaming, blending cutting-edge web3 elements with the intense thrill of a high-octane shooter. Our recent playtest has sparked incredible excitement among players, who are energized by the potential of what we’ve created to redefine the industry.

Innovative Gameplay Meets Web3

XOCIETY is more than just a game; it’s a breakthrough. By fusing the adrenaline rush of a survival shooter with the emerging potential of web3 technology, we’re creating an experience that players love. One player shared:

A Visual and Auditory Feast

Our goal was to make XOCIETY a visual spectacle, and players have noticed. With intricately detailed environments, lifelike character models, and stunning visual effects, we’re pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. And you, the players backed this up, with the majority of players rating visual appeal and environment interest 4/5 or higher.

But it’s not just about the visuals. The sound design has also been a major highlight for our community. As one player put it:

“The sound design is top-notch. The realistic gunfire, environmental sounds, and immersive background music really enhance the overall experience.”

Challenging AI and Engaging Mechanics

At XOCIETY, we know that a game must go beyond aesthetics. That’s why we’ve focused on delivering smart, challenging AI and fluid gameplay mechanics that keep players engaged. And you agreed, with 83% of responders rated gameplay mechanics as 4/5 or higher

As one of our playtesters noted:

“The enemy AI is challenging and smart, requiring different strategies to defeat. This keeps the gameplay interesting and prevents it from becoming monotonous.”

We’re addressing your feedback on server stability and matchmaking improvements, while working on new game modes, expanded customization options, and regular content updates. The future of XOCIETY is bright, and we’re excited to keep growing with you.

Notable feedback & General Sentiment

Enhanced Onboarding for New Players To address the steep learning curve, a more comprehensive and interactive tutorial system is needed. Help new players understand the game mechanics, shooting dynamics, and game strategies more effectively & quickly.
Improved Communication on Updates Clear communication about upcoming changes, balance adjustments, and the rationale behind them could help players adapt more easily and reduce frustration. Detailed patch notes and developer insights would be beneficial. — This is specific to things like buffs to weapons, mapping of skills, eg. why some have been moved from just given to purchasable (or behind the licenses system)
Addressing Performance Issues Continued focus on optimizing game performance is crucial. Prioritizing bug fixes, reducing lag, and improving server stability would significantly enhance the gameplay experience.
Balancing Casual and Competitive Play Creating a more distinct separation between casual and competitive modes. To cater to different player bases. Ensuring that casual players have a relaxed environment while competitive players have a more skill-based, intense experience can help maintain a balanced community. (aka elo matchmaking)
Toxicity and Fair Play Implementing more robust anti-cheat measures and better reporting systems to combat toxic behavior and cheating. Promoting positive behavior via a player report rewards system.
Accessibility of Events Making in-game events more accessible by offering multiple time slots or on-demand access can ensure that more players can participate, regardless of their schedules. Additionally, providing event replays or highlights can keep the community engaged.
Variety in Game Modes Introducing more varied and experimental game modes can keep the gameplay fresh. Rotating limited-time modes (LTMs) and incorporating player feedback on these modes can provide diverse experiences.
Cosmetic and Progression Customization Allowing more customization options for cosmetics and progression systems can enhance personalization. For example, offering players the ability to customize their HUD, game settings, and progression paths can make the game feel more tailored to individual preferences.
Community Involvement — Wider Point on Game and Project Increasing community involvement in decision-making processes, such as voting on new features or content, can make players feel more valued and connected to the game’s development.
