XONE has partnered with Island Records-signed band easy life to launch a first-of-its-kind immersive experience for music fans. Dubbed the “Maybe In Another Life House”, the experience brings the band’s latest album artwork to life in 3D and allows fans to engage with easy life inside a mobile-based virtual world. This activation marks an important milestone in a new era of fan-artist interaction.

We are excited to announce our partnership with Universal Music’s Island Records and easy life. Together, we have created a one-of-a-kind immersive music experience that sets a new precedent for the way fans interact with their favourite artists.

A New Era of Immersive Content

At XONE, our mission is to enable artists and creators to effortlessly build immersive experiences centered around fan communities. We believe that giving everyone the tools to build interactive 3D spaces redefines the relationship between fans and artists, enabling fans to become co-creators and fostering a deeper sense of community and loyalty.

XONE founders James Shannon and Alica Molito have a rich background in creating mixed reality experiences and ventured into building their own mobile platform after leading mixed reality music agency Auras Studios.

After the initial launch in 2021, XONE made significant strides in the web3 space before going back to the founding team’s roots in the music industry. The company’s incubation with Abbey Road Red has been instrumental in shaping XONE’s platform concept, which is specifically tailored for music artists and fans.

The Maybe In Another Life House Experience

Collaborating with easy life, Island Records and Universal Music, the XONE team created an immersive 3D world inspired by easy life’s latest album’s artwork. The album “Maybe In Another Life” (MIAL) features many songs which lend themselves to being interpreted in a 3D interactive format. The MIAL House experience allows fans to step inside the surreal world depicted on the album cover, all from the convenience of their mobile devices.

For five weeks fans can immerse themselves in this dreamlike world, embodying their virtual avatars, playing mini-games, and exploring easy life-branded collectibles. To bring fan involvement to the next level, fans can use the XONE Builder to design their own easy life-inspired rooms within the dream house and compete for the title of the best fan room.

“We’re so excited for our fans to be able to go inside the ‘Maybe In Another Life House’ and explore it.” says easy life’s Murray Matravers. “To have XONE build [the house] digitally and create rooms & experiences inspired by songs from the album is so cool for us, loads of hidden gems in there, enjoy!”

How it works

Fans will get dropped into the explorable world that we created based on the band’s album artwork. Using avatars powered by Ready Player Me they can chat with others and listen to easy life’s music. Inside this world they can discover and collect various 3D collectibles that become available over a 5 week campaign. Those collectibles will be used to build their own spaces and experiences.

Using our XONE Builder can re-mix content and collectibles into their own unique spaces and experiences. We have made the XONE Builder to be as easy as humanly possible to use. No-code, no stress, no time, just the modern day equivalent of the Sims on mobile. After building fans post their creations to their in-app profile, share on outside socials or invite their friends to come hang out as avatars.

A Shift in Fan-Artist Interaction

We are witnessing a remarkable shift in the way fandom is evolving. Fans are no longer content with merely passively consuming music; they crave immersive and interactive experiences that allow them to engage with their favorite artists in meaningful ways. With this activation, XONE aims to redefine the relationship between fans and artists, enabling fans to become co-creators and fostering a deeper sense of community and loyalty.

Lewis Lister, Audience Manager at Island Records says:
We’re so excited to partner with XONE to bring this innovative digital experience to the Easy Life fans & beyond. Will Child’s model house formed the basis of so much of our album creative, so it’s amazing to be able to bring it to life as a playable 3D experience. It’s also a great way of bringing fans back into the world of ‘Maybe In Another Life’ with rooms themed around album tracks to shine a light on some of the band’s most recent catalogue.”

What’s next for XONE?

At XONE, we believe in democratizing immersive mobile music experiences. Our ultimate goal is to provide both small and large creators with the tools they need to effortlessly build, soundtrack, and share 3D spaces within minutes. XONE’s consumer-facing builder boasts intuitive drag and drop controls, making the creation of custom virtual worlds effortless and enjoyable.

The XONE platform includes a range of social media features such as hosted events, followers, chats, and a content feed, providing all the necessary tools to cultivate purpose-driven communities. We envision a future where artists and fans collaborate seamlessly, pushing the boundaries of music technology and fan engagement.

As XONE continues to evolve and expand, the team will bring similar immersive experiences to artists and creators across the globe. We see this as a new type of content that could greatly enhance fans’ connection to their favorite artists and to each other.
