XONE x MGH — A mobile-first metaverse experience.
When we think of the metaverse we think of Virtual Reality and browser based worlds. But very few people think of mobile-based platforms. And why not? There are almost 7 billion smartphone users in the world who spend their days glued to their screens. Creating familiar and user-friendly metaverse applications for where people spend their time is extremely important for this new technology to take hold. That is exactly what XONE is doing.
1. Why is XONE building a mobile metaverse?
XONE is building a mobile-first metaverse to accelerate adoption of immersive technology and experiences. User retention in existing metaverse platforms (with the exception of Roblox and Fortnite) has been a challenge for a number of reasons. Most have not put the focus on user experience and FUN but rather “web 3” aspects such as NFT and blockchain mechanics. As the web 3 market struggled in 2022 so has user retention and general interest. Leading with web 3 features also restricts potential market size. Dappradar reported that in 2022, ~1.13M unique active wallets (UAWs) logged in daily to blockchain games. Contrast this to the 2.5 billion active mobile gamers in the world who play mobile games every day. At XONE we believe that for meaningful adoption of metaverse technology we need to build technology that is fun, easy to use, and creates a bridge between existing web 2.0 and web 3.0 platforms.
2. What is a XONE?
XONE is a mobile-first platform that blends traditional social media and metaverse experiences. The platform centers around the concept of a XONE. Your XONE is a space which allows for display of NFTs, digital collectibles, the organizing of events, and the discovery of music. Think of this as the next iteration of a profile. XONEs can be created with an in-app creator studio or minted as part of our collection.
XONE also features a discovery mode where users can find gamified experiences from musicians and brands.
3. What is the XONE NFT Collection?
The XONE NFT collection is a group of 10,000 procedurally generated 3D spaces that have special utility inside our mobile metaverse. They belong to either Jungle, Cloud, Underwater, or Desert themes. Owners of XONE NFTs will have access to $XONE token airdrops, early access to new features like video streaming and spatial audio production, and be able to earn $XONE through renting and hosting of their spaces to others.
4. How MGH is expanding into XONE
Mobile is the next step in making the Metaverse more accessible. This was a primary reason for MGH to invest in XONE.
MGH will acquire the following XONEs:
- 54 Jungle
- 27 Cloud
- 27 Desert
- 26 Underwater
But this is just the beginning. XONE has developed an MGH branded community XONE, which you can explore via our beta application. This will be used to host meetups through social features like chat and voice aswell as exciting community events to introduce our community deeper into the Metaverse.
4. Why does MGH invest in XONE?
The goal of MGH is “Navigating through the open Metaverse together.” But the Metaverse is not just one all-encompassing virtual world like the “Oasis” in Ready Player One — it’s diverse Metaverses with dedicated communities.
