Alex Blumberg lets it all hang out. Not literally (which is gross) but metaphorically (which is not gross). He’s the co-founder of Gimlet Media — a podcast factory that essentially grew out of NPR and This American Life and is home to one of the only podcasts I actually listen to, Mystery Show. And his big takeaway from a year of building Gimlet was to let it all hang out. Talk about your troubles, build bridges to people, and — critically — use the thing you do to talk about the thing you do. Maybe not something anybody can do, but xoxo is pretty full of media-makers. Catnip to my ears, of course, but a reminder that sharing very rarely hurts.
