VR@B’s New Marketing/Design

VR@Berkeley has fostered a wide variety of amazingly talented teams throughout the years, creating projects born from each member’s unique passions and background. Our history continues to grow with every new VR enthusiast we welcome. Amidst all this innovation and excitement, however, we’ve never really had a team dedicated to documenting and showing to the world what our club is capable of. And that is where you, hopefully, will join us!

We’re looking for motivated visionaries to develop our first-ever design team. Our main focus this semester is building a newsletter to showcase our teams’ progress/accomplishments and to inform the campus community of VR-related events.

Rather than sending out a simple email-based newsletter, we will be crafting a polished, modern sequence of pages that can be printed, assembled, and kept as a record of VR@B’s history. Forget the plain text and the copy-pasted GIFs. Our aesthetic will be on point and #goals. Not only will you be keeping our club and community up-to-date, you will be defining our club’s image and branding!

The newsletter’s target audience will be VR@B members and anyone signed up on our mailing list. Being a new team, we’ll start with a monthly publication, and adjust frequency if need be. The newsletter will feature club updates, upcoming events, member spotlights, cool VR projects from the Bay Area, and opportunities based in and around Berkeley. Beyond that, our scope is very flexible, and we’d love to hear your ideas for what to include next!

  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or other graphic design software: required
  • Love for VR and design: of course
  • Previous experience in outreach and marketing: helpful
  • Ability to make lit art: appreciated
