Electrum-XRC for Bitcoin Rhodium released
The Bitcoin Rhodium development team wishes to announce a new version of their Electrum port to Bitcoin Rhodium, now called Electrum-XRC. Electrum-XRC (formerly Electrum-BTR) is based on Electrum 3.3.6. There are a few new features related to our port:
- Trezor T now supports XRC. Thus, the Trezor plugin has been activated for this release. The process for setting up a Trezor T with Electrum-XRC is similar to Electrum, as described in this blog post by Trezor: https://blog.trezor.io/using-trezor-with-electrum-v3-a0b9bcffe26e. Most people use Standard (“R” addresses) for their wallets, which Trezor would describe as a legacy account. The “derivation path” that would show up is: m/44'/10291'/0'. Unless you understand derivation paths, it is not necessary to change it.
- For web wallet restoration, the “first address” is now optional. It is a useful convenience now to check if the seed and transaction password is correct, however, you can continue to create a wallet without the first address.
- Branding was fixed. We use XRC instead of BTR and “Bitcoin Rhodium” instead of “BitCoin Rhodium”. The default data directory that is used in the old version is called “.electrum-btr_data”. While we want to properly change the default to “.electrum-xrc_data”, we support the old naming for existing setups.
- There are some minor fixes.
- for coins that are new, getting balance information should be quicker with the updated checkpoints file.
- Linux AppImage build will be coming at a later time.
You can download the new version of Electrum-XRC at: https://electrum.bitcoinrh.org. Also, checksums and PGP signatures are also available.
