Generative AI is revolutionizing content generation across various mediums, disrupting traditional methods in text, images, art, movies, and music creation. XR (Extended Reality) is also undergoing this transformation. In a previous article, Raju K and I discussed how AI aids in generating content for XR, meeting the dynamic needs of XR and the metaverse.

We highlighted content management as a key challenge in XR and metaverse adoption. While generative AI methods offer some solutions, the significant hurdle of content optimization remains. Without optimization, it’s difficult to utilize the generated content effectively. Traditional CAD or 3D design tools produce sophisticated content, but transforming this raw generated content, or complex 3D models into usable forms for various device use cases requires specialization and expertise.

That’s where products like Convrse.AI come into the picture. I had the pleasure of meeting with Mr. Virant Singh, Founder and CEO of Convrse.AI, at Thoughtworks Gurugram. He showcased Convrse.AI’s impressive capability of optimizing 3D content with ease.

3D content optimized with Convrse.AI

I am amazed to see how smoothly Convrse.AI can identify areas for optimization. It pinpoints problem areas with weight distributions and provides AI-assisted suggestions for optimizations. It highlighted unnecessary areas hidden behind surfaces or meshes that could be removed without visually impacting the scene. Additionally, it allows users to find similar-looking areas, apply rules to multiple areas simultaneously, and much more. All of this is achievable without the need for any additional tools — simply use it in your favorite browser!

I feel tools like Convrse.AI address a significant challenge in XR adaptation by bridging the skill gap in 3D design expertise. Many companies and entities may not have the resources to afford or recognize the need for in-house 3D designers. While they excel in developing great software, their UX designers may still be lacking in 3D art skills. Convrse.AI may well aim to ease this gap, allowing even novice developers or those in traditional roles to easily catch up with these types of optimizations.

This tool can also be seamlessly integrated through public or private hosted APIs into the XR CI pipeline. With support for texturing, baking, and AI-assisted enhancements, Convrse.AI has the potential to become a great success. All the best to the Convrse.AI team!

Once again, thank you Virant, for the insightful discussion on potential ideas and synergies with Thoughtworks. We delved into how Thoughtworks is guiding our clients in developing software in the most optimal ways possible.

While we finished our discussion, my son also visited the Thoughtworks office. He also had the opportunity to experience XR and 3D printing. He asked me if this kind of 3D optimization could expedite the 3D printing process from his previous attempts.

And the answer is, ‘Why not!’ A less complex model would require less time for conversion, resizing, slicing, and overall printing.

So, the possibilities are truly endless. Keep optimizing, keep utilizing!
