Shubham’s Story

I am Shubham Hanuman, a visual artist from Mauritius, and I joined Ducorp XTM as a graphic designer in our Arcadia stage. For me, creativity is something to be exploited fully to bring forward innovative and original ideas. Every brand needs to differentiate via its content and personality.

My journey has always been towards the creative side, be it in visual arts, design, event planning, music, etc. I yearn for the satisfaction you get when you create something from scratch.

I have always been on the quest for self-discovery, and collecting experiences on various projects in any field has fulfilled this purpose.

A defining breakthrough that shaped my career towards the arts was the A-levels exams, where I was ranked 1st at the national level for Art and Design.

Eventually, it opened the doors to many arts institutions, among which I was accepted to the School of Art Institute of Chicago, my dream college.

However, after many thoughts, I decided to pursue Graphic Design as a new challenge at Curtin Mauritius.

In my free time, I take the opportunity to explore my abilities though painting and making videos.

Showcasing my works on social media was a game-changer since I received both positive and negative feedback from my audience, which helped me develop a particular style.

Today, I participate in various art events and even sell my paintings through social media.

I believe that art exists to be shared, and with Ducorp XTM, I am hoping to fulfill this via XTM+, our media channel.

My ultimate goal is to act as a catalyst for the Art Industry in Mauritius, which currently lacks motivation and visibility.

We may take artists for granted, but I think we all deserve respect for the craft we do.

The ability to create and convey emotional messages is indeed a gift to humankind, and we should all credit the positive experience acquired amidst all the chaos around us.

Life is an ongoing show, and we all have a role to play to make it a blockbuster!
