Issue #4: Updates from the Dev Cave
Aug 31, 2018 · 3 min read

Hello Devs, Coders, XYO Tinkerers and Technologists! We’ve been so slammed, so in the weeds these past few weeks, that this version of Updates from the Dev Cave is going to be totally short and link-tastic.
It’s true. This may be the shortest Updates from the Dev Cave you’re ever going to see, so let’s get going!
Status updates!
- Code for network protocols and initial core modules? Done.
We finished the code for our network protocols and created the initial core modules for executing all bound witness interactions. This means that all of the node interactions on the network now have a unified data structure for sharing information! - Our first internal working IPFS chain? Finished.
We completed our first internal working IPFS chain. This eliminates a lot of the gas costs for storing our diviner query results on the Ethereum blockchain. IPFS is essentially distributed file storage and we are using it to store the query data rather than storing it on Ethereum. We’re storing the hash on the Ethereum chain, and referencing the IPFS storage. When it comes to storing large data files, IPFS is much cheaper and more robust. - Improvements to dapploy, our one-click dApp deployer? Happening.
Two and a half weeks ago, we gave you a glimpse of dapploy, our one-click dApp deployer. Over these past few weeks, we’ve dramatically improved it to make it more user-friendly! Keep an eye out for full documentation — It’s on the way! - Bridge and Sentinel SDKs? In the works!
We know it’s hard waiting for this, but stay tuned! We’re writing them now! - PRs and issues? Synced.
Our issues and PRs are now synced with our internal project management tool and we’ve set up Issue and PR templates so the open source community can begin contributing in a more valuable manner. - XYO Yellow Paper on Network Implementation? Released.

Our developer evangelist/dApp wizard Graham McBain spent the day with the Sacramento Kings staff, touring their stadium and giving them an introductory presentation on what the blockchain is (and how XYO comes into play). - XYO Community Forum? Live!
