What’s the magic formula for the Fourth of July weekend? Fireworks, family and COIN (of course!).

So whether you’re firing up the grill for Independence Day or you live somewhere far outside ‘Merica, here are four facts to make your mining divine.

FACT #1: You can change the way your mining map looks

Want your COIN map to look like a satellite image? Prefer a brighter — or darker — map? You can change what your COIN map looks like. Example: Here’s the Satellite version…

And here’s the Light version:

Here’s how to change the look of your map:

  1. Open the COIN app and click on the COIN icon in the upper left-hand corner.
  2. You’ll see a dropdown menu that says MAP STYLE. Tap the arrow on the right.

3. You’ll see a list of options. Choose the map type you want.

4. When you’ve made your choice, click on the X to close the window.

FACT #2: You don’t need to hold up your Sentinel to Geomine

You can mine with your Sentinel in your pocket or handbag — especially when you’re driving (always use automine when you drive!). However, by holding up your Sentinel when you’re sitting or walking, you’re promoting Geomining. And the more people Geomining, the better.

FACT #3: You can personalize your Geodrops

Some Geominers are totally fine with leaving a random Geodrop for other COIN users. Others want to make things a little more special. If you’d like to leave a drop for a specific person, you can add their email address. Here’s a handy dandy guide on how to create personal — and not so personal — Geodrops. Step #7 is key!

FACT #4: On average, COIN users Geomine 315 times per day. What about you? How much do you Geomine?

Happy Geomining, COIN users! Stay safe and have a wonderful weekend!
