XY Find It: One Last Update to Our Beloved App!
--
Okay, devs and XYO fans, listen up! Your usual host, Johnny Kolasinski, is off fighting rogue robots and meeting with XYO die-hards at CES in Vegas (not necessarily in that order, of course).
So I’m subbing in, but not really, because most of this very special Dev Cave features a piping hot update from XY expert extraordinaire Maryann Cummings. The topics? The future of the venerable XY Find It app, and its planned successor, the shiny, new XY Locate App.
Maryann has the goods, so let’s just jump right in and hear directly from her, shall we?
2019 is off to a fast start for XY Find It users and developers! We’ve decided to release one more version of XY Find It while its successor, XY Locate, is being developed. Our engineers have just a few more ideas to build before the team never gets the chance again.
KeepNear will work for iOS more than ever before, even after the XY Find It app has been closed, a popular request from many users. Both iOS and Android users will have the ability to update their XY4+ Finders to the latest firmware, which has also been updated. And we’re going to shoot down a few of the inevitable bugs.
That said, everything we’re building now is being created with XY Locate in mind. The best of XY Find It will be available to XY Locate users, along with a suite of new features that will make XY Locate an ideal app for daily, multifunctional use. XY Find It organized your stuff, XY Locate will organize your life.
Lead Android engineer Bob Nies, Lead iOS engineer Darren Sutherland, and XY founder and CTO Arie Trouw have worked together to build the app we’ve always wanted XY Find It to be. We can’t wait to use what they’ve created just in the last month to realize a mobile product that goes light-years beyond the simple tool that XY Find It was conceived as.
XY Find It version 5.0 will be available to the public by the end of January, and may be updated again in February. Be sure to keep your app up to date or turn on automatic updates! If you have any questions, or if you would like to let us know your feedback, please send us a note at support@xyfindables.com.
Until next time, friends old and new, XY Findables will be hard at work doing what we’ve always done — developing technology to help you find the things that are most important to you. We’ll update you again soon!
There you have it, folks! The XY Find It app lives on (YAY!), while the XY Locate app is only going to get better and better!
Next week Johnny will return with another awesome update, but in the meantime, stay safe, and keep on coding!
