XYO Network delivers verifiable location data — data you can trust with your life — from a blockchain-powered global network. CAS Smart City delivers the platform — the “brain”, if you will — of smart cities throughout China. And now we’ve partnered.

So, what does this all mean?

Let’s start with smart cities. At its most basic, a smart city is a giant technology-backed city that uses data, algorithms and even AI to make everything run more efficiently. As data flows into the central hub, or main platform, that data is used to execute a variety of actions and decisions, from easing traffic at a certain intersection to keeping a bustling shopping center at a cool 23° C.

CAS Smart City, which features some of the greatest minds from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, provides the intelligent platforms that keep smart cities running as smoothly as possible.

At XYO, we deliver the location data that can tell the platform exactly where things are, so the right decisions can be made.

What’s one possible application for CAS Smart City and XYO? Putting a legion of cars on the XYO Network, so each driver would know exactly where (and how many) parking spots are available nearby — from the multi-story parking garage across the street to the pay lot two blocks down.

If one of those spots uses a meter, the XYO and CAS Smart City-connected car can interact directly with it, automatically making payment on behalf of the driver. If the driver overstays their allotted time, a ticket can also be issued automatically.

One CAS Smart City signature platform is the IoT (Internet-of-Things) Smart Light Pole. Used to manage smart city roads, this street-side pole contains tech that can be used to:

  • Turn on, brighten, or dim lights as cars approach
  • Charge electric vehicles
  • Deliver WiFi or navigation help to pedestrians and drivers
  • Warn people of accidents or inclement weather
  • Monitor car accidents or other disasters

If an XYO-connected network of vehicles and devices sends data to a smart platform created by CAS Smart City, smart cities might expect less traffic, safer pedestrians, and a metropolis that runs like a well-oiled machine.

XYO Network is proud to pair with CAS Smart City on this venture, and we look forward to powering the cities of now and the future.
