The core of any product at XYO involves the following concepts: data sovereignty, provenance, and permanence. We’ve already defined these words, and let you know why they’re important.

But how does XYO make these concepts actionable for you? How do we empower you to use your data?

The answer: Foreventory.

Foreventory is a new tool from XYO that will show you how powerful your data is, and perhaps most importantly, transform how you interact with the data you’re already generating across multiple platforms.

Let’s talk about how we got here, and why you’ll want Foreventory in your hands.

Thanks for My Data, Now What?

Thanks to things like GDPR, most global companies allow you to view summaries of or download some of the data you make with their products. For example, COIN shows you histories and summaries of your activity on my.coinapp.co (in addition to our upcoming COIN Location dApp). Spotify Wrapped is another example of a great way data can be fun, and social.

But if you’ve ever done a data download for something like Netflix, Facebook, or Apple, you may have noticed there’s a problem. The output tends to be raw data. There’s little context and not much you can do with it.

Foreventory changes that. At XYO, we know raw data can be used to power incredible things. With Foreventory, your data can transform your raw data into useful graphs, head-to-head comparisons, fun shareable images, cost tracking, and more.

We’ve created that tool, and now we want you to try it.

Introducing Foreventory by XYO

Today, the public will have their first opportunity to get their hands on Foreventory v. 1.0 — our first public beta test. And a second huge update is already planned. Foreventory’s second provider — Web3 — will be released in the coming weeks.

We’re now opening up the Foreventory beta version to the public.

You’ll find it here right now.

For this beta launch, the inaugural data analysis tool will be for your Netflix account. More analysis tools for Foreventory-compatible platforms are in the works with our team and will follow soon — we’re excited to bring you the full world of Foreventory!

In the meantime, let’s take a tour of what the first Foreventory beta looks like.

First, you’ll need to request your account data from Netflix. They make it easy, and you should have all of your Netflix data in a day or two. (There’s technically a window of 30 days for delivering data, but like Amazon Prime, our tests show a typical one to two day delivery.)

Once you have your data, just upload the ZIP file they send you into Foreventory. It takes seconds, no conversions or extra work. Who doesn’t love instant gratification?

Now for the fun part.

Click on Explore Insights and you’ll get a clear overview of how everyone in your Netflix account uses it. See who watches the most, who watches what, and compare profiles against one another with Profile Duel.

Click on the share button in the top right corner of the Profile Duel box to share your results!

Click on All Data in the menu on the left to see the data Netflix provided in clear, easy-to-read tables. You can view all the data across your account, or filter data individually by profile.

The Profiles feature is also coming soon for public testing. This is allows you to drill down and see more detail in the data used for Profile Duel.

Here’s what’s neat about Foreventory. We don’t store your data without your permission. It’s not uploaded to our servers or sent to us in any way, you get to keep your data completely private unless you want to share it. Simply clear your browser cache or use Incognito Mode and all data is swept away.

Foreventory Now and Forever

Of course, it’s not called Foreventory for nothing. The features we’re working on include awesome ways to store and share your data if you so choose, to make sure what matters to you is never lost. Retention will remain opt-in; we respect and advocate for your data sovereignty.

You may be wondering why Foreventory is beginning with Netflix analysis. Their GDPR compliance is exemplary — we love to see it — plus it’s a fun and interesting platform that we think you’ll enjoy engaging with. We’re also starting with just one because each platform has its own data structure and features. That means Foreventory has to be customized for each new platform we integrate.

And we want your feedback about it as we build! If you participate in the Foreventory beta test, you’ll get to have your say on the shape and direction of Foreventory. We want to know which platforms you want to interact with, what features you like most, and what you want to see expanded.

Now, we’d like you try Foreventory and share your feedback.

The Foreventory beta is now open! Join us, shape the future of this emerging product!
