XYO XIPs: Bring Us Your Best Ideas!

Do your thoughts on XYO frequently sound like this?

“I really love the way XYO does _____, but maybe it would be better if they ______”

“__________ would be so much faster if XYO could _________ their API”

“I could like XYO even more if they listened to my awesome design idea for __________to help streamline _____________”

Now you have the awesome chance to put all those ideas you’ve been HODLing, and get them in front of the XYO people who may bring them to life!

Welcome to XYO Improvement Proposals, or for short, XIP (rhymes with ZIP)!

With XIPs, an area within our online community, you’ll now have a place to share your thoughtful, fully developed ideas with XYO.

You’ll start by using our XIP template, which has fill-able fields for descriptions, motivation, specs, design rationale, and more. Scott Scheper, our beloved Co-Founder and CMO, filled out the first XIP. The topic? The Founding HODL’er Registry!

Here’s a (shortened) sample of what we’re looking for:

As you can see in the screenshot, we’re asking for you to “make your case”. Show us why this is a good idea. If it’s doable and makes sense for us to implement your idea, someone here will put it into play.

Here’s a quickie breakdown of what we’re looking for:

• Protocol improvements
• API improvements
• SDK improvements
• Geomining improvements
• Geodapp API improvements
• Cryptoeconomic improvements
• Any other relevant stuff

Now, naturally, we’re asking you to use your best judgment. Moving our Hacker Headquarters from Sunny SD to your town? That is neither practical nor doable. It also doesn’t have the “meat” needed to make it a full-fledged idea.

However, if you can come up with a XIP that shows us exactly how to streamline the geomining process, complete with specs, research and design rationale, your idea could make the final cut!

Remember: Whatever you submit should be a) detailed, and b) well thought-out. Flights of fancy with no chance of implementation will not make it past the first stage. But the really well-crafted ideas from people who understand our company and what we’re hoping to accomplish will definitely get a closer look.
