Sorrow of Loss

The rain falls
Hiding my tears
Drenched completely.
Frosty feet slip,
Icy body hurts,
Cold heart bleeds.
Grief hits me
Undulating torrent
Battered inside out.
Wails of despair
Peals of thunder;
Which is louder?
The rain falls
Cold and hot water
And unlikely union.
Electric sky lights up;
Drained of energy,
I lie down.
Fear crawls on me
Looking for a
Place to hide;
I’m paralyzed.
The wind moves
Water changes direction.
The rain falls
Hiding my tears
Drenched completely.
Unbearable pour
I lie down in the abyss
Melancholy swims around.
Heart crushed,
Body numbed.
Darkness cackles.
My watery grave
Next to yours.
’Til death do us part.
