Yahaha Studios announces Asset Ovi, 3D search tool to support game developers
Revolutionary new tool enables developers to search multiple storefronts for new content in one click
8th February 2023, [Finland]: Yahaha Studios has launched YAHAHA Asset Ovi, a first-of-its-kind platform to help game developers find game assets. Asset Ovi cuts out the middle-man, allowing users to search for assets across prominent 3D asset marketplaces including the Unity Asset Store, Sketchfab, and CGTrader, all on one platform.
Yahaha Studios conducted research to understand the challenges of asset searches and learned that 80% of developers spend 10 minutes or more searching for a single new game asset across multiple storefronts. With Asset Ovi, creators can quickly browse over a million assets easily and comprehensively.
Yahaha Studios hopes to help creators work more efficiently. Introducing this new tool to its free-to-use service, YAHAHA is supporting game developers and creator enthusiasts of all levels to have easy access to millions of assets, simplifying the game-creation process.

When our research showed that developers were spending hours searching different stores for the right assets, we wanted to help. YAHAHA Asset Ovi is a free service that anyone can use, saving game developers considerable time and frustration searching for the right assets.”
To make Asset Ovi as creator-friendly as possible, the platform launched the YAHAHA 3D viewer. This tool allows users to examine an asset’s fine details before purchase, including wireframe, post-processing, and material channels. Partnered with Jina and powered by AI, Asset Ovi supports AI-powered similarity search, making asset location easy. Users can also perform mesh-to-mesh, text-to-mesh, and colour-to-mesh searches. The search engine continuously learns from large data sets, understands the shape, text, and colour of the asset with neutral network algorithms, and finds the most relevant results.
At the end of 2022, Yahaha Studios announced it had secured a $40 million investment to build upon the early success of YAHAHA, a creator-focussed user-generated content social platform. YAHAHA is currently open in Early Alpha: anyone can be among the first to test the platform and share feedback. This early community will impact how YAHAHA evolves, the shape the platform takes, and building its digital world.
