YAM Finance Integrates EPNS for decentralized communication and notifications
Helping solve a key need in DeFi, Ethereum Push Notification Service (EPNS) bring convenience to both protocols and their communities by providing a decentralized communication and notification protocol that enables users (wallet addresses) to receive notifications and obtain token incentives through active participation.
Currently, our users rely on Discord bots to get alerts, such as if their collateral ratio changes (putting them in close risk for liquidation) or any price movements occur. This requires users to check for alert updates manually since wallets don’t receive alerts from any Web3 activity. EPNS solves this dilemma with push notifications that can be received on IOS and Android devices as well as a dapp currently in development by the EPNS team. The result is a dramatically improved notification service for our users that not only simplifies managing positions but also aligns with the Web3 ethos of full decentralization.
Today, we’re excited to announce that we are entering a collaboration with EPNS to provide communication and notifications layer to the YAM community. EPNS is a key protocol that will bring much convenience to our community and we’re ecstatic to work with the EPNS team to bring the benefits of notifs to our products.
Our pilot program with EPNS will consist of:
- Creating a channel for YAM Finance in our discord to notify our users of liquidation risks. Users of YAM Synths will get notified before reaching their minimum collateral ratio.
- Exploring and building further important notifications for various use cases in the YAM Ecosystem, such as alerts on governance actions (snapshot and on-chain votes).
- Providing feedback to the EPNS team to help build a decentralized communication layer that is scalable and powerful for the whole of Web3.0.
