Wow! What an amazing event YAPC 2016 was! We’re uber-excited here at Evozon for oh so many reasons — one better than the other.

First of all because YAPC was now hosted by the city where we’ve been operating since the very beginning, the lovely and amazing Cluj-Napoca. Some say it’s the Silicon Valley of Eastern Europe and if the sheer number of tech companies and developers here is any indication, this might just be true.

Second, we’ve been super-actively supporting Perl and Perl-communities for over 4 years now, starting with the local Perl Mongers chapter and going to YAPCs for longer than we can remember and all of us loving every minute of it and are so thrilled to have finally met even more like-minded people around.

Third, we had the chance of proving to the world once again that Perl is stronger than ever and that building awesome products using Perl makes not only technical sense, but an economic one too.

And we truly believe in the power of Perl — thus we made countless contributions to a plethora of leading open-source projects. And to further prove our trust in Perl’s power, we built the leading scheduling platform in Romania, Calendis, using Perl.
