Would You Like A World With Magic In It? That Is UX ☺

What will We learn?

  • What user experience (UX) is and why it is important
  • The foundations of UX design and the impact it can have on your business
  • Some of the key factors that constitute ‘good usability’, by considering real-life examples

What is UX and why learn it?

  1. It’s so important for your business given the changing digital expectations.
  2. User Centred Design and what it’s really at the heart of it is that you’re keeping your user at the heart of everything that you’re designing. So in order to be able to do this, you need to have a really good understanding of who they are and what they need.
  3. User Interface and this is literally just how your user interacts with you on a screen.
  4. UX is all about minimizing those pain points in the journey to ensure that your website has the most successful design possible. (Like Apple)
  5. Design is just conveying the message to the customer in design. Design is not an Elegance feel or putting some vectors.

So here are some surprising statistics about UX design. First of all, 79% of people, if they don’t like what they find on a site, will go back and search for another site. 90% of users have stopped using an app due to poor performance. And 86% of people have uninstalled or deleted an app because of problems with its performance.

The foundations of UX design:

We’re going to look at the key approach, the attitude, and the process elements which are necessary for UX design.

A key part of this is trying to understand your user. (User persona)

The five steps in the UX process, and why it is important to keep your user in mind when designing a product or website.

The five steps are:

  1. Discover
  2. Describe
  3. Design
  4. Develop
  5. Release

What is ‘good usability’?

  1. Simple and — easy to understand
  2. Feels intuitive
  3. Engaging — users should feel good while using it
  4. Efficient — the fewer clicks to complete a task, the better
  5. Make users feel supported
  6. Make it easy to recover from mistakes
  7. Consistency across different pages

By designing to reach all ability levels, you’ll create designs anyone can use and enjoy whatever the context. Designing for accessibility helps all users and is also known as universal design.

Thank you.😉
