While your kids might love that powdered lemonade or pouches of mystery juice, they’re loaded with sugars and colors and other questionable ingredients. Here are five equally convenient, but healthier recipes that will have your kids feeling refreshed all summer long. And you can feel good about giving them something that’s homemade from natural + fresh ingredients.

1. Watermelon juice

Starting off strong and simple with watermelon juice. All you will need is one watermelon and one-fourth cup of lime juice. Cut up your watermelon and juice some limes, and blitz them all in a blender. After blending, pour the juice through a strainer and serve over ice.

2. Tropical smoothie

Take the tropics to your kitchen with this quick and easy five-minute smoothie recipe. Add one cup of frozen strawberries, one cup of frozen pineapple, three-fourths cup of milk of your choice, and one tablespoon of almond butter (optional, but delicious) into a blender. Blend to your liking, and there you have it, a tropical smoothie your kids will love.

3. Pineapple + mint refresher

This refresher is great for when you and the kiddos come back from those sunny pool days. The recipe asks you to chop 4 slices of pineapple, juice a whole lemon, pour 2 cups of water, and pick 8 mint leaves, but we like to simplify the actual recipe here by using three tablespoons of pre-made lemon juice. Blend the pineapple, lemon, and water in a blender, pour it into a glass, and garnish with mint (optional). Throw a reusable straw in there to enjoy.

4. Peach cooler

Head to your local farmers market and grab your pick of juicy peaches to make this refreshing cooler. Put four peaches, half a cup of greek yogurt, ice, and half a cup of sparkling or still water into a blender. Blend to your liking then serve cold and ready to be slurped.

5. Berry mango slushy

This slushy is perfect for those kids who like a little carbonation, and it’s a healthy alternative to soda. You’ll need one and a half cups of berry-flavored carbonated water, a cup of sliced strawberries, half a cup of chopped mangos, two tablespoons of lime juice, and one and a half cups of ice. Blend all the ingredients together, throw it in a funky cup, and hand it off to your kiddos!
