Hear ye, hear ye! This list of amusing + informative podcasts will keep your kids engaged during long days at home. Plus, it will help them practice their listening skills.

1. Circle Round

Made for kids ages 4 to 10, each episode tells a folktale from around the world + explores important issues like kindness, persistence, + generosity.

Listen on NPR, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, and Spotify.

2. What If World

Named one of the Best Podcasts for Kids by the Washington Post, “What If World” is entertaining for both parents + kids. Host Mr. Eric answers “What If” questions from kids in the form of stories. Very bingeable.

Listen on What If World’s website, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, and Stitcher.

3. Book Club for Kids

For a podcast to inspire or fuel your tween’s love of reading, look no further! Hosted by public radio legend Kitty Felde, young readers discuss a different book in each episode, which features a celebrity reader + an interview with the author. Pick one of the books, read with your kids, then listen to an episode. This is exactly what it sounds like: a kid-friendly book club, hold the wine + cheese.

Listen on Book Club for Kids’ website, Kids Listen, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Stitcher.

4. Wow in the World

Each 30-minute episode tackles questions about new scientific discoveries + pairs these cool news stories with a heavy dose of silliness. Pick from stories about Bee Barf (how do bees select flowers?), why chili peppers are spicy and how jellyfish can help us build robots. And parents, if you listen to “How I Built This”, you may recognize one of the hosts.

Listen on NPR, Kids Listen, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Stitcher.

5. Peace Out

If you have anxious children, this collection of short stories guides kids through visualizations + breathing exercises to teach mindfulness + self-regulation — the perfect addition to a pre-bedtime routine.

Listen on Bedtime FM, Kids Listen, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Stitcher.

6. Noodle Loaf

For the musically inclined, this interactive musical-themed podcast is geared towards kids ages 3 to 9. Each 10-minute episode is packed with laughter + learning with activities like starting a family a-capella show and writing trap songs about grapes.

Listen on Noodle Loaf’s website, Kids Listen, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Stitcher.
