First off is our DRAGON WELL green tea. So for starters, what is green tea actually?
Green tea is made of the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant, what we usually call a tea plant. It is the type of tea that goes through the shortest processing among major tea types: after plucking, its oxidation is being prevented to keep the freshness of the leaves, then it’s being shaped and dried. You can read the processing of green tea in more detail in another post coming soon.
Our DRAGON WELL is a green tea that goes by the name of Dafo Longjing in China. It is an early plucked tea from the Hangzhou-area of Zhejiang Province, which is regarded as one of the most prestigious green tea-producing regions of the country.
After plucking, withering, and another processing step called “kill-green” (which prevents the leaves from additional oxidation), the leaves are being pressed into a flat shape. After that, it is dried and packed for consumption. The process allows for the leaves to stay bright-green and it also keeps the freshness of young leaves inside.
On opening the package, smell of the leaves is fresh and lively, almost like that of freshly-cut grass. Color of the tealeaves are bright green, which indicates its freshness. After brewing, the tea liquor has a fresh aroma of grassy and nutty notes, which can also be experienced in the cup.

BREWING ADVICE: When brewing DRAGON WELL green tea, use filtered water, quality mineral water or spring water; the water should be heated to around 80°C. For 200ml of water, use around 2–2.5g of DRAGON WELL and steep it 2–3 times, each time for around 30–40 seconds.
The final brew is nice and refreshing with a light-yellow color and mild aroma. It’s dominated by the flavor of chestnut, hazelnut and cashew and leaves a nice taste of umami in the mouth after drinking. DRAGON WELL is highly recommended by us for morning and after-lunch consumption, mostly because of its caffeine content and great ability to help digestion after a nice meal.
