THIS IS NOT JUST A MOMENT. THIS IS A MOVEMENT!

Black Lives Matters an ideological and political intervention in a world where black lives are systematically and intentionally targeted for demise. With everything that has transpired these past couple of weeks has really hit home, and the sad part is it’s disrespectful to watch videos of this happening, but without these videos we wouldn’t know what was happening.

I honestly don’t understand how are some people not grasping the #blacklivesmatter movement. Yes all lives do matter, but who’s blood is all over the streets in the world today? it’s honestly so hard for me to for words that summarize everything that has happened. It has become so real to me that this world is becoming more and more unsafe as each day goes by, you may never know who’s next and you pray to God that it’s no one. I have never been so afraid of what the future holds for us.

These past events have really left my heart heavy with sorrow, I didn’t really want to believe what I seeing on TV, I was thinking it could really be anyone you know now and it’s like what can we do to protect ourselves now, if cops are just killing without any justice. God forbid that could have easily been one of my best friends, my cousins, or my uncles.

I will never forget this day for the rest of my life, I had came home one day and my mom was sitting at the dinning room table waiting for , mind you she never waits up for me. So as soon as I saw her my heart dropped all these bad thoughts passed through my mind simultaneously so I asked her what’’s wrong, for a while she didn’t answer. So me being me I started crying and screaming “MA! MA! WHAT’S WRONG?! DID SOMETHING HAPPEN TO DAD?!” After she calmed me down she told me that my uncle had been stopped by the police. Oh lord I almost passed out, he was like the brother I never had I loved him with all my heart , I was at a lost for words because of everything that has happened, I began to think of the worst.

She began to tell me that he was just arrest and there was an altercation between him and the police, but that’s all that happened. I can not begin to tell you how relieved I was, I am so appreciative that it didn’t go another way. I’m ready to see a change in the world that we are living in today for my children and my children's childrens. #blacklivesmatter is a rallying cry, a cause and a movement in the wake of the deaths of black men at the hands of police. But the hope is for it to mean much more.

WE ARE THE EVERYTHING!

~Until next time…
