Ideas need funding. But there is a truth to the saying, “The further you go from an idea the more money there is.” So, the ideas person who makes the leap doesn’t always profit from it. That’s why Kickstarter matters. It puts the power back in the hands of the creator and not the funder. The funder is, in this case, the crowd. The crowd shares the risk, and share the glory too. But the creator doesn’t have to go to a bank, it sells the idea to the crowd doesn’t fund everything. But the general pattern is that the best ideas get funded quickly and fully. The banks may dismiss this as a small thing, but start-ups are making them less relevant. Which may not be a bad thing.
