So we asked a simple question which e-commerce website is the designed to help the users decide better? It was a tough question given that most of the websites currently follow a simple pattern. So we ran a User Experience Test to find out how and why?

We created a simple scenario

Find a mobile phone having the following features with a price of less than Rs.15000 :

Storage : Minimum of 32 GB
RAM : Minimum of 4 GB
Rear Camera : Minimum 16MP

Once you have decided which phone you want, add it to your cart

This was tested across 4 top players Amazon India , Flipkart, Snap Deal and Paytm

We spanned them across 5 top questions

  1. What is the average time taken to buy the android phone with the above mentioned specifications

What we saw was many user were able to perform the required task very quickly because the features and filters were available. Hence making Flipkart

2. The No. of errors made while performing this task

This made us now understand that even though Flipkart was the fastest in decision it also had a second highest in errors.

3. First Preferred mode of navigation

This clearly points out that since Paytm is looked as a recharge operator the discoverability for the e-commerce features gets really low.

4. Product Discoverability

We can see mostly everyone is on the same amount of time comparatively, only Flipkart was slightly quicker than the rest.

5. Task Satisfaction Rating (1–5)

Finally concluding this entire task and who is really the winner, well it was Amazon with a overall score of 60% + keeping the rest behind at 30% difference. This can be very well explained in the next graph.

Thats all guys, hope you all appreciated this =)
