What the Indian Youth is doing everyday?
A complete user study on Indian Youth that focuses on the usage of devices and kinds of task performed on them.
We asked over 100+ Users all ranged
16 Years — 25 Years
Equal ratios of Males and Females
The research and study took us over 2–3 weeks to present it in the most simplest of manner. The objective of this or any study that we perform at Yellow Slice is to help other designers answer many questions that are not really answered and also not considered in projects.
The research was a complete Quantitative Approach. The trick here was to create a form that help us gather the correct data and help the users to express the most within a certain amount of time.
We used the following
After we began to analyse the data we had collected. We were quite sure that the presentation had to divided into the following
Daily Activities
Repetitive not Daily
For the Daily activities we were able to use a combination of line and pie chart to create something what we call ‘Beautifully Designed Data’
Daily Activities for Both Male and Female (Fig 1.)
The above graph shown in Fig 1. is clear that at current times the maximum amount of time spent is on mobile and that stands strong across the day except for other times. We also know that whatsapp still stays the highest across all the types of platforms.
There is also something quite interesting that from 9–11pm there is a good jump of the TV usage.
The other category helped us understand app such as Zomato, Uber that were used repeatedly but not always on a daily basis.
Repetitive Activities(Fig 2.)
The above graph in Fig 2. shows how users are spending most of the time on entertainment, this was also evident in out previous collection of data. We also know banking and finance is on the top of the most frequent usages, followed by Ordering Food online (Zomato, Swiggy, Uber eats etc..)
We also now know that watching movie and booking them has the lowest frequencies. (BookMyShow, etc..)
We love doing this and we are even happy to share this data with you. Write to us on info@yellowslice.in
