Recently I wrote the first installment of predicting outcomes in WWE. Well I hope you enjoyed it because we have more where that came from. So sit back and enjoy this second installment of predicting outcomes in WWE.

5. Comedy vs. Seriousness

Comedic wrestling has its place on the card, but not the top of the card. Of course we’ve all seen comedic wrestlers get upset victories over their more serious opponents on RAW and SmackDown, but when the stakes are high, a comedic wrestler will usually take a back seat to their serious counterpart. A great example of this is Santino Martella, whom, if you may have forgotten, was the last person eliminated in the 40 Man Royal Rumble, AND was in an Elimination Chamber match for the World Heavyweight Championship in 2012. As much as Santino was entertaining to watch, I don’t believe many people thought he would leave either of those matches, the victor.

4. Obvious Mis-Match

#GiveRyderAChance

Jobbers, enhancement talent, glorified stuntmen. Call them what you will, we all know what the terms are referred to. Someone who usually goes out there to make someone else look good. In these instances, it’s pretty clear to see who is going home with the W. Anytime the speaks hit with “Woo woo woo! You know it!” They are exactly right. You do know, and now its time to watch the future unfold. This doesn’t mean all mis-matches include “jobbers.” It just typically means when someone who is higher up on the card is facing someone lower on the card, there’s a good chance the higher up will win. Example, if next week Samoa Joe was paired up against Matt Hardy, Samoa Joe would most likely get the win. Not to say that Matt Hardy is a jobber by any stretch of the imagination, however, Joe is higher up on the card and one of RAW’s top contenders at this time. It all depends on the people involved and the situation. Years ago I would have predicted just about anyone over Jinder Mahal….my how the times have changed.

This isn’t funny anymore Vince…

3. Winning Money In The Bank

This is a fairly new rule in WWE booking mentality. It goes like this, since the MITB contract holder is guaranteed a championship match, it is an instant bullet of momentum straight to the top contenders. Because of that, losing matches in that time period won’t be too detrimental to a character’s momentum, because whatever ground they lose putting over others in that time, they will gain back with interest down the line. How many times can you recall a MITB winner losing a match, walking out holding the contract up, as if to say, “It doesn’t matter, I still have this!” That sums it up right there.

2. John Cena is Involved

This may sound sarcastic, but looking at the numbers, Cena has lost only 14 matches clean in the past TEN YEARS. Looking back at the list of people to accomplish this feat, names the likes of Triple H, Daniel Bryan, Batista, Kevin Owens, Shawn Michaels, among others. It’s easy to see that unless you are a current or future WWE Hall of Famer, you and your clan won’t lay Cena down for the 3 second tan. The reasoning for this is simple, for the last decade, John Cena has been the face that runs the place, and a loss for him, in Vince’s mind, is potentially career killing, while 100 losses for a guy like Dolph Ziggler is perfectly acceptable. Are you not sports entertained?

1. Breaking a Record

Whenever a champion(s) hold a specific title for so long that it becomes record breaking, there really isn’t anywhere for that person(s) to go but down. Breaking a record usually signifies the beginning of the end for that run. A great example of this was when The New Day became the longest reigning tag team champions in WWE history, to lose the titles to the newly formed team of Sheamus and Cesaro shortly afterwards. After that the NXT Women’s Champion just broke Rockin Robin’s record as Women’s Champion of 502 days, it was easy to expect it wouldn’t be long before the Empress Of Tomorrow moved on to bigger and better things.
