“Ladies and Gentleman, my name is Paul Heyman.”

The Advocate of the reigning, defending, undisputed WWE Universal Champion and said champion are still in Brooklyn as Lesnar is still the champion. So don’t think this is a rerun or time delay, this is live in the Barclays Center. Everyone now knows that last night, the winner in the main event and still champion, BROCK LESNAR! After all these years, Heyman doesn’t make predictions, he gives spoilers. He told us of the conspiracy, and it unfolded. For the first time in Lesnar’s life, Lesnar was carted off and the “three big, bad, mean title worthy” “pretenders” would fight it out and sneak away with the title without dealing with Lesnar. Heyman would’ve come out and whined and complained about it, had not “this Beast” refused medical care to come back out “to conquer or be conquered”, and Lesnar conquered. For those who missed it, on the night of 8/20/17, Lesnar pinned Roman Reigns. Brooklyn loves that part. To be on the same page this moment forward, “if there’s beating to be done, the beating will be done by Brock Lesnar.”
But BRAUN begs to differ!
He gets right up in Lesnar’s face, goes for a choke slam but Lesnar escapes, so Strowman boots Lesnar, then gives him a Oklahoma Slam! The Monster Among Men just put the Beast and the entire WWE roster on notice. Lesnar staggers back up, so he gets another slam! Braun holds up the title and roars triumphantly, how long will we have to wait to see this 1v1 battle of titans?

Brooklyn Street Fight: Enzo Amore VS Big Cass!
The Certified G was helpless to do anything about the Giant losing to the Human Skyscraper, so he asked for this fight tonight. Cass is from New York, went to private school and then to NYU. Cass’ book smarts don’t match up to Enzo’s education at the School of Hard Knocks! 15 years of friendship all started in Brooklyn, and back then it wasn’t about height, mouth, wins or losses, it was about supporting each other. Cass was like family, broke bread with them, but then broke their hearts. The story ends where it begins, Enzo is going to show Cass just how Enzo plans to finish this. Shopping cart of items! Enzo and New York spell it out for Cass, he’s S A W F T! Enzo throws things at Cass, the bell rings, Cass knocks Enzo down. Cass throws Enzo down the ramp, pushes the golden cart and runs Enzo over. Cass picks Enzo up and throws him into barriers. Cass drags Enzo up again, puts him in the ring, grabs a chair from the cart, and goes into the ring. Cass gives Enzo the chair, daring Enzo to try something.
Enzo grabs the chair, Cass kicks him down. The Skyscraper stands tall as we go to break.
We return, Cass is toying with Enzo now. He puts Enzo in a corner and grinds his forearm across the face. Enzo jawbreakers back, and he crawls for the chair. Cass grabs Enzo and drags him away, denying Enzo the equalizer. He whips Enzo to a corner, corner splash, and he embraces the heat as Enzo drops to the mat. The “Cass Hole” gets a right hand from Enzo, but then Cass puts Enzo on the top rope to club away on his back. Enzo flops to the apron, Cass watches as he flounders to his feet, gets running, Enzo dumps him out! Enzo crawls to the chair with the crowd cheering him on. Enzo has that chair, Cass steps on it and Enzo’s hand! Cass walks off the bad tumble, but keeps near Enzo. He steps on the chair again so that Enzo can’t lift it, Cass lifts Enzo and slams him down. Empire Elbow doesn’t work because that bad leg gives out. Cass gets to the apron, the ref calls for assistance.
Enzo staggers and wobbles as Cass walks around, both men are frustrated that this match has to end. Enzo still wins, but has this war truly ended?
Emma is still angry Sasha Banks got the title opportunity over her.
But Dana Brooke points out Emma tapped out. Emma keeps ranting about how she started the Women’s Revolution. Nia Jax is in for a rude awakening in their match tonight, Nia is a moron led around by the manipulative Alexa Bliss. Turns out Nia Jax was behind her the whole time. After their match, Nia is pretty sure the hashtag will read #GiveEmmaCPR.
Emma VS Nia Jax!
The Evil Aussie stuck her foot in her mouth when talking bad about the Brutal Beauty, does she stand a chance of surviving? Emma doesn’t help things slapping Nia, then firing off forearms, Nia runs her over. Heavy elbow drops squash Emma more, Nia throws Emma into a corner. Nia squashes Emma in the corner and throws her to the other side, but Emma dodges the second corner attack to give a dropkick. Emma hasn’t knocked Nia down yet, she runs but is caught, pop up to Samoan Drop! Nia wins, thanks for coming, Emma.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, Elias.”

The Drifter didn’t have to go far as he was in Brooklyn last night. He wanted to sing another song for Brooklyn, but he knows the people are ashamed to be here anyway. This song is instead about R-Truth. “People over here, what’s up? If you feel me, say what’s up? Just kidding, time for some real music.” “Well I was sitting on the Brooklyn Bridge. Thinking about how-” no, no clapping! This is for Truth. “Then some moron came up and said ‘What’s up?’ And tried to tell me New York was #1. Hey man, we know that ain’t the truth, cuz this place-” R-Truth interrupts just like he did last week! Time to show Elias what’s up.
Elias VS R-Truth!
They tie up at the bell, Elias backs Truth down, not a clean break but Truth backs Elias down with haymakers. Elias shoves Truth, Truth comes back with a spinebuster. Corner splash and more right hands, Truth backs up but takes a back elbow. Elias gets a headlock, Truth powers out, things speed up, calf kick! Truth keeps on Elias in the corner, the ref backs him off again, Truth slips around and Elias kicks Truth. Elias whips but is reversed, Elias hammers Truth and then Drift Away! Elias wins, that’s what’s up.
Raw General Manager, Kurt Angle, comes to the stage.

The Olympic Gold Medalist promised a major surprise for us tonight, what could it be?! For the first time in over a year on Raw, it’s JOHN CENA!
The Face that Runs the Place is a free agent, so why not show up tonight? So noisy in here, the fans are all over the place. Where they expecting someone else? No? Yes? “Let’s go Cena!” “Cena Sucks!” Even he wonders why he’s here. He saw Angle at Summerslam, Angle asked if Cena would like to come by. Cena said “yes”, not because he dislikes SmackDown, but because for a long time, Cena has wanted to be on Monday nights, and be face to face with a certain superstar. Who exactly, you ask? Roman Reigns!
The Big Dog comes out, surveys Cena and “the Yard”, then heads down to the ring. Brooklyn thinks “You both suck!” But yes, Roman Reigns is exactly who Cena meant. Cena’s been looking for Roman? Roman’s only seen Cena go after him on Twitter. But since they’re both in Roman’s Yard, let’s see if Cena runs his mouth to Roman’s face. The fans would rather see Undertaker right now. That must be them holding a grudge. Cena isn’t here to talk, though. Mics dropped, shirts off, The Miz comes out?
With Maryse and the Miztourage, of course. Wow, so this is what a sold out Barclays looks like? Miz wouldn’t know. He apologizes for interrupting this big moment. How many moments do these two get? The Barclays Center is in agreement. Working hard is supposed to get you your moment, but Miz is sick of waiting while two “undeserving” superstars get them week after week after week! Miz is making this his moment. Angle thinks Raw needs someone new. But the Intercontinental Champion is benched at Summerslam?! Does Raw need Cena? Barclays says “NO!” Cena will show himself out. No, Miz isn’t done with Cena. That smug smirk of Cena’s, it turns this all into a joke. Roman saying this is “his Yard”, no, this is Miz’s Show! And the crowd isn’t left out of this! They never know what to do! You’re divided on Cena, divided on Roman, who does that affect? Not Cena. Not Roman. It affects Miz, the champion! The worthy main event talent of every show! He is sick of having no respect! Miz has earned his respect for “twelve, damn, years!” Where’s The Miz’s moment!?
Cena admits, Miz deserves a moment, a main event. Cena has an idea: history will be made tonight where The Miztourage goes up against Cena and Roman. Roman is confused, and Miz sees Cena is just making this one of Cena’s moments. Miz is not at all prepared to compete. But Samoa Joe is!
He comes right to the ring and stands amidst everyone. “Pardon me, gentlemen, but I have a very strong opinion about this situation myself.” If anyone is in that main event with The Miz, it’s gonna be Joe. Barclays likes the sound of that. Joe is sick and tired of Roman claiming this is his Yard, Joe will always go right at Roman, because he owns Roman. As for Cena, Joe throws hands! Rmoan doesn’t do anything until the Miztourage goes afte rhim, he decks each of them with a right hand. Cean gets Joe up, Joe slips to a Coquina Clutch, SUPERMAN PUNCH! Joe is sent out, Roman and Cena are alone, “You Both Suck!” Brooklyn’s feelings aside, it seems Roman and Cena are simpatico, for now.
8 Man Tag: Gran Metalik, Rich Swann, Cedric Alexander & Mustafa Ali VS Drew Gulak, Tony Nese, Ariya Daivary & Naom Dar!

With the Cruiserweight Division in such a fluctuating state, there is a chance to grab some points, which four man team can get the momentum? Metalik and Gulak start, headlock and takeover, but Metalik works his way up. Metalik fights back, Gulak gives him a knee, Gulak mocks the mask. Gulak whips, Metalik handsprings then handspring arm drag, Gulak whips him again but Metalik walks the ropes to dropkick Gulak down. Gulak tags to the Persian Lion, Metalik tags in the Pakistani Prince. Ali and Daivari tie up, waistlock from Ali but Daivari backs him to a corner. Cheap shot mule kick on the break, Daivari then stomps Ali, corner to corner whip. Ali goes up and over, then flying crossbody! TWO, facelock keeps Daivari grounded. Ali tags Swann, hand-off of the arm wrench but Daivari reverses. Swann shows his agility and throws Daivari, Daivari barely dodges the Swann Song. Daivari wants to tag Dar, Dar wants nothing to do with Swann, Nese tags in. The Premier Athlete lunges at the Outlandish One but can’t keep up with the speed, dropkick from Swann sends Nese out. Swann builds speed, Nese hits him with a back elbow. Nese counts his eight-pack as we go to break.
We’re back, Gulak in control of Swann with a toehold. Swann crawls, Gulak keeps him back, Swann kicks Gulak away. Gulak stomps Swann and gets that toehold again, Swann keeps reaching. Swann stands up and fights Gulak off but it’s not enough. Gulak grabs hair, then a back suplex but Swann gets out, enziguri! Both men crawl and reach for tags, tags to Nese and Alexander! The Carolina Kid rallies on all four opponents, enziguri rocks Nese! Nese is in a corner, Alexander runs in, shoulder and swing kick, springboard flying clothesline! Gulak barrels in to break the pin, Metalik taunts Gulak to dump him out. Metalik goes up high, walks the rope, BIG asai moonsault! He topples Daivari and Gulak, Alexander gives Nese a stiff back elbow but Nese backslides, TWO, handspring enziguri! LUMBAR CHECK!

Alexander’s team wins!
Backstage interview with Neville.
Now a two time Cruiserweight Champion, the King wants to know what fans were expecting on Summerslam? A new “charismatic” champion? Or high expectations for some “punk” and his “flesh-eating parasite” of a manager. Neville has a word for people like that. But Titus and Tozawa come by. Sticks and stones break bones, but words never hurt, you little gargoyle. However, here’s a word for you: rematch. On 205 Live. See you then. Can the King keep this second reign going past tomorrow night?
Kurt Angle is visited by Jason Jordan in his office.
Angle lets his Gold-Blooded Son know he’s proud of him. While JJ isn’t looking for special treatment, he would like a match tonight. Well the Miz is busy. Does JJ want to make up for his loss? That’s for another time. Tonight, give him Finn Balor. That’s quite the tall task. But if JJ thinks he’s up to it, he’s got it.
Brooklyn welcomes the NEW Raw Tag Team Champions!
Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose reunited after years of being enemies, and claimed victory at Summerslam! Whoever would’ve thought? Barclays is sure happy to see it. Together again, Architect and Lunatic run the show as champions! Ambrose admits this feels really good. He slept with the belt under his pillow even. Really? Weird. Either way, it feels like old times, they did something they never thought would happen, but now it’s time to celebrate! Everyone is invited! Except for “The Bar”, Sheamus & Cesaro. Surely those two want a rematch, so these fighting champions are up for it right now. But instead of The Bar, it’s the Hardy Boyz!

Newly AWOKEN, Matt & Jeff wish to congratulate Ambrose & Rollins. The Hardys know that sometimes, brothers fight. But when brothers come together, it is a BEAUTIFUL thing. That said, they want a match. Seriously? The Hardys were Rollins’ and Ambrose’s heroes. Yes, 25 years of revolutionizing the tag team division, these brothers want to keep that revolution going in Brooklyn. The champs talk it out, “let’s do this damn thing.”
Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins VS The Hardy Boyz!
Ambrose and Matt begin, arm wrench and yank, the Lunatic has Matt until Matt reverses and hits a shoulder breaker. More arm wrench exchanges, Matt elbows Ambrose, tag to Jeff. Double whip, double throw down, splash and leg drop, Ambrose out at one. Jeff rams shoulder to shoulder, kicks, Ambrose gives Jeff a knee at the ropes, tag to Rollins. Dropkick to Dropkick, Jeff down, TWO. “The Bar” watches back stage as the Haryds take control of Rollins, double hip toss to double wheelbarrow suplex. TWO, but Matt is not frustrated. Headlock takeover to Rollins, Rollins fights his way up, then fights his way out, Matt clubs his back. Matt whips Rollins to a corner, but Rollins gives him a complete shot to the buckles. Tag to Ambrose, snapmare to kick to lariat to knee drop all in a row, TWO. Ambrose chops Matt to ropes, whips, Matt ducks, Jeff tags, Matt kicks Ambrose but Rollins tags in. Rollins jumps in, catches Jeff’s kick, Jeff spins to kick Rollins into Matt’s Twist, Rollins pushes Matt away into Ambrose, Dirty Deeds denied, we have a stalemate and the fans are loving it. Now it’s a brawl!

Matt gets Ambrose out, wrecking ball dropkick, jawbreaker from Jeff to Rollins, Rollins clothesline’d out. Jeff from the apron, flying lariat to Rollins! Team Extreme in control as we take a break.
When we return, Jeff has Rollins’ arm trapped, denying a tag, Twist of Fate countered with an enziguri! Jeff and Rollins crawl, tags to Ambrose and Matt. Ambrose rallies on Matt, whip but reversed, still a lariat. Ambrose goes corner to corner for the forearm, Matt denies the bulldog, Ambrose throws Matt out, slingshot plancha but Matt evades. Rollins is dumped out, too, Matt tags Jeff for a BIG Poetry in Motion!

Jeff topples both champions over, Matt waits for his brother to get back in. Ambrose is brought in, too, Jeff goes corner to corner for the splash. Corner to corner whip reversed, Jeff elbows back, Whisper in the Wind but Rollins saves Ambrose! Jeff hits the mat, Ambrose returns and covers, TWO. Ambrose drags Jeff over, Rollins tags in, elbow drop. Rollins keeps Jeff from getting to Matt, fans rally and Jeff wills himself up. Rollins suplexes Jeff down, TWO, Rollins drags Jeff back to his corner. Tag to Ambrose, stomping and grinding a knee on Jeff. The fans rally again, Ambrose puts Jeff in an Indian Deathlock crossface, then bow & arrow lock, then a facelock to drag Jeff up. Jeff fights back, Ambrose clotheslines him down, TWO. Tag to Rollins, they pick Jeff up for a double whip, Ambrose whips Rollins for the clothesline, and another, snapmare to chinlock. The fans rally once more, Ambrose tags in, they’re keeping Jeff well isolated. Tag back to Rollins, Jeff hits Rollins and Ambrose back, Whisper in the Wind! The fans rally once again as Jeff gets up and goes around his opponents, tag to Matt! Matt rallies, DELETE DELETE DELETE buckle bumps for the Architect. Clothesline and bulldog! TWO, but Matt is not frustrated, he goes to the corner. Matt hops up, takes aim, elbow to Rollins’ head. Matt calls for it, Side Effect denied, Rollins misses in the corner but Ambrose tags. Twist denied, Slingblade Spinebuster!

Jeff dropkicks Ambrose off the cover! “This is awesome!” as they brawl again. The Hardys go, Matt thrown out, Jeff takes kicks and dropkicks, now Jeff is out. Just like Summerslam, DOUBLE DIVE!

All four men are down as a ring count begins. Ambrose gets Matt in, Matt hotshots Ambrose and apron Side Effect to Rollins! Twist- Dirty- shove, Lunatic- Side Effect! TWO! Matt drags Ambrose over, Matt goes up, Ambrose trips him up! Matt is in a Tree of Woe, Ambrose sits him up, then climbs up to join him, double underhook? Matt resists whatever this is, Ambrose headbutts him down. Ambrose jumps over, Jeff tags in, Twist of Fate! Mule kick from Rollins, but Jeff drags him out! Jeff up, SWANTON BOMB into knees! Ambrose and Jeff are slow to getting up, Rollins is back at the corner. Jeff denies Dirty Deeds, Rollins tags, Ambrose feeds Jeff to Rollins, KINGSLAYER! Dirty Deeds! Ambrose and Rollins win! The tag team champions win tonight, they look ready to take The Bar on anytime.

The Miz talks with Samoa Joe backstage.
The Hollywood A-Lister always knew there was something special about Joe. Tonight, mind-blowing. Miz had to convince Bo and Axel to join the Miztourage, Joe volunteered. They each have their opponent’s numbers, they- Shut up! Joe is not part of Miztourage, but the current Miztourage can be distractions on the outside while Miz does that “annoying, unorthodox” thing he does. Any questions? No. Good. Joe heads out, The Miz knows to follow his lead.
The NEW Raw Women’s Champion comes to the ring!

The Legit Boss, Sasha Banks, finally broke the Brooklyn Curse by winning “the big one” to become a four time champion. Banks may be from Boston, but her heart has been in Brooklyn these last three years. TakeOver with Bayley, to last year’s Summerslam with Charlotte Flair — by the way, Ric, we’re all praying for you, get well soon, “the world needs the Nature Boy.” — and this year, defeating a wannabe Goddess of Raw, there is only The Boss. Sasha plans on defending this championship “the right way.” No need to talk her way out or have someone backing her up, she has the fans. However, former champion Alexa Bliss comes out to stop Sasha right there. Sasha is going to defend a title, that’s cute. Be honest, Sasha, you’ve never successfully defended a title. That’s why she’s a four time. Sasha is pretty sure when they go against each other, Alexa either ran or tapped. Sasha knows Alexa wants to use her rematch clause, so why not use it here tonight? Maybe she should. Or maybe not. No one here deserves to see Alexa celebrate a victory. And Alexa isn’t in the mood to break Sasha’s heart. Next week, however, Alexa is more than ready. And after that, “The Legit Boss” will be “The Legit Loser.” Will Sasha’s reign only last one more week?

Jason Jordan VS Finn Balor!

The Gold-Blooded Son shows how bold blooded he is, calling out Finn Balor just 24 hours after JJ lost and Balor won at Summerslam. The two circle, tie up, JJ lifts and slams Balor to the mat and rolls him in the facelock. Finn kicks out, JJ is smiling confidently. They circle, Finn gets the waistlock, standing switches, JJ slams Balor again, back to facelock. Fireman carry takedown, waistlock roll, Finn kicks out and gets to ropes. JJ lets go cleanly, but then grabs Finn again, headlock. Finn powers out, things speed up, dropkick from Finn floors JJ. They stand off, JJ wants a handshake, Finn kicks it away and then kicks JJ, TWO, headlock. JJ gets to his feet, reverses the headlock, Finn powers out and things speed up again, JJ catches Finn and slams him down! TWO, JJ doesn’t get frustrated, he just takes aim and runs at Finn. Finn dodges, clotheslines JJ out, Finn gets to the apron but JJ gets in the ring, knowing what comes next. JJ and Finn are at a stand off again as we go to break.
We return as Finn is in control of JJ, kicking away at a weakened left leg. JJ catches a kick and gives Finn a clothesline. JJ gets to a corner as he checks his leg, then returns to Finn for yet another waistlock slam. Elbow drop and another slam, then another elbow drop. TWO, JJ is now stone faced as opposed to his confident smile. Butterfly overhead suplex, TWO. JJ grabs Finn in the butterfly lock, wrenching those shoulders back, Finn works to get out as fans rally. Finn gets up, JJ gives him a knee, Finn resists the butterfly, he shoves JJ up and over, sunset flip, rolled through for a dropkick! JJ runs at Finn in the corner, Finn boots him back and rallies with forearms. Finn flexes, running chop in a corner, corner to corner for another running chop, Finn throws JJ out and wrecking ball dropkick! Finn on the apron, Penalty Kick! JJ is down, Finn gets him back in the ring, Finn takes aim and Sling- overhead suplex! JJ gets angry, straps down as he fires up, running in, shoulder into the stomach! Back suplex, crossbody counter, TWO. JJ forearms, PELE drops him. Both men down, the referee checks on them both. Finn gets up, drags JJ up but JJ powers him to a corner. Then to the other corner, and back again! JJ backs off, corner to corner but takes a boot. Slingblade! Finn takes aim again, dropkick blasts JJ back. Finn drags JJ into position, goes up top, Coup de Grace! Finn wins! 24 hours, Finn wins twice, but Jordan loses twice. Where will either man find themselves on the Raw rankings?
John Cena & Roman Reigns VS Samoa Joe & The Miz w/ The Miztourage!
Miz wanted his moment, The Destroyer just wants to fight, the two join forces for tonight to do that against two of the biggest names in the WWE today. Cena and Miz start, Cena rallies on Miz already, running bulldog, Miz tags Joe. Cena takes a moment to let the crowd get things out of their system, but that beach ball gets confiscated. Cena turns around and takes a chop from Joe! Joe keeps on Cena in the corner with stiff jabs, tag to Miz. Joe holds Cena down, Miz stomps, Miz hears the fans chant “We want beach balls!” Miz takse his frustrations out on Cena with a punch and a boot. Miz says HE is the star of the match, the reason they should watch, and he boots Cena again. Miz trash talks Roman, too, as he runs and gives Cena another boot. The fans troll the Miz with a wave, Miz runs for another boot but takes a lariat from Cena. Cena and Miz both crawl for their corners, Roman tries to get Cena to stop paying attention to the fans’ antics. Cena joins in on the wave! Miz kicks him down, DDT! TWO! Miz is furious, but perhaps for more reasons than Cena kicking out. Miz has Cena in his corner, tag to Joe. Miz holds Cena in place for Joe to throw strikes. Joe drags Cena up to headbutt him down. Joe picks Cena up again, to knock him down again. Joe doesn’t care what the fans are doing, he tags The Miz. Miz goes up top, taunts Roman, ax handle to Cena. TWO, Miz is frustrated. Miz takes aim and Cena from across the way, Cena dodges the clothesline and lets Miz tumble to the mat. Cena crawls for his corner, tag to Roman! Miz tags Joe, Roman rallies on Joe with clotheslines. Uppercut for Miz, close-range clotheslines for Joe. Roman gets running, boot to Joe’s face. Locked and loaded, Roman aims at Joe. Joe ducks, urinagi!

TWO, but Joe stomps and kicks Roma, tag to Miz. Miz chokes Roman at the ropes, throws Roman out of the ring, and the Miztourage runs Roman over. Miz goes out now to fetch The Big Dog, cover, TWO. Miz mocks Cena “You Can’t See Me”, then gives those “It Kicks” to Roman. Miz wants the buzzsaw, Roman ducks, roll up to deadlift powerbomb!

Roman and Miz are down, but they crawl for their corners. Miz tags Joe, Joe intercepts Roman. Joe drives hands into Roman, then stomps, double chop tot he shoulders, neck wrench to twist Roman’s head. Roman endures as fans duel, he gets up and fights out. Roman backs Joe down with body shots but ends up in a corner, back splash and PELE! Joe drags Roman over, cover, TWO! Joe tags Miz, Miz takes his time knocking Roman back down with left hands. Roman takes those punches, he fires up off them. Miz throws Roman out, Bo comes back, dodged, Drive-By to Axel and SUPERMAN Punch to Bo! Miz comes over, gets dumped out! Roman crawls, Miz tries to stop him, tag to Cena! Cena rallies on Miz, spin-out powerbomb to “You Cant’ See Me!” Joe gets in the way, Coquina Clutch on Cena!
SUPERMAN PUNCH hits Cena!

Joe takes Roman out, gets running, but runs into Roman’s punch! Miz gets back up, and sees Cena is vulnerable. Miz watches as Cena stirs, Cena turns the full nelson into a fireman’s carry, Attitude Adjustment! Cena and Roman win! But now that this team-up is over, what will happen with these two powerhouses on the same roster?
My Thoughts:
Summerslam was great and all, but tonight’s Raw was really jumbled. Most of the matches were filler, and short at that. Nia-Emma, Elias-Truth, and that 8 Man Cruiserweight match all didn’t need to happen, but since there’s a good chance Cass was legitimately hurt tonight in his street fight with Enzo, those were likely put on as emergency substitutes. A shame this apparent blow-off was stopped because of an unforeseen circumstance, and Cass getting hurt kinda hurt the show. Cutting those out, everything else was pretty solid. Ambrose-Rollins VS The Hardys was best thing of the night, felt on par with last night’s match of Ambrose-Rollins VS Sheamus-Cesaro. Unfortunately, the Brooklyn crowd seemed to get bored after that, Jordan-Balor was a good match but the fans only cared about beach balls. Balor wins, no idea where either is gonna go from here but Balor’s chances look brighter than JJ’s, sadly. Then by the time they get to Cena-Reigns VS Joe-Miz, the crowd was ready for anything but that match, despite how excited they were when it was created in that great in-ring segment. Miz’s promo was such passionate work-shoot, the Brooklyn fans ate it up, and they loved the fight Joe brought to both big names. Sadly, it seems the WWE was set on making the big names win clean rather than letting the Heels get away with dirty tactics. Obviously we know the plan is Cena VS Roman down the line, as soon as No Mercy or maybe built up to be a major Survivor Series “draw”, but it is happening.
The non-match segments were the real good stuff of tonight. Lesnar and Heyman opening to gloat, only to be wrecked by Strowman was amazing, Neville encountering Titus Worldwide and learning a big rematch is coming was fun, Neville-Tozawa 3 should be really good since 205 Live will let them do just as much as on Summerslam or last week’s Raw (I hope), and Alexa calling her shot next week should make for another good match. Even Joe’s backstage segment with The Miztourage was great, Joe knows he is dominant heel. If Joe doesn’t end up in a program with Cena before Cena-Reigns, Joe should try against Miz, see if he can’t get the Intercontinental Championship before going back for the Universal title. Raw has to iron out some things but there is good stuff to go forward with.
My Score: 8/10
