Power Rankings: WWE Raw
Post-SummerSlam Power Rankings for WWE Raw!

Now that SummerSlam has come and gone, we saw numerous title changes, but, not many additions to the Raw roster. However, with the way the last few days have played out for Raw talent, there is a change at the top. Keep in mind, this takes popularity, social media buzz and other aspects into account beyond who’s the “top” of the card.

- Braun Strowman- The first man since Goldberg to actually dominate Brock Lesnar during confrontations. He manhandled Brock Lesnar to the degree that he had to be stretchered out of the match (momentarily, but impressive none the less). Then, he helped kick off Raw by beating the crap out of Lesnar, which, inspired Kurt Angle to give Braun a shot at the Universal Championship during the main event of No Mercy. When you throw the champion around like pizza dough, you win the top guy spot.

2. Brock Lesnar- The aforementioned pizza dough, still walked out of SummerSlam looking like a force to be reckoned with. After coming back from getting stretchered out early in the match, to finishing strongly by F5ing Roman Reigns, he still holds the Universal Title. Even though he’s been on the receiving end of a lot of punishment from Strowman, his track record precedes any doubt. Wherever this man goes he’s always dangerous, so it’s hard to argue him being outside of the top 5.

3. Samoa Joe- Now this may be a little surprising given the fact that Raw kinda just threw him into a tag match. But, during the Fatal 4 Way he picked his spots and looked like a cunning heel who can win out of nowhere. He didn’t eat the pin, nor was he on the receiving end of much domination. Joe is also still very over with the crowd thanks to his 18 years of being in the business. When all else fails, just remember, “Joe is gonna kill you”.

4. Sasha Banks- The first new addition to the Raw Rankings, coming off a big SummerSlam victory. Still very popular amongst the WWE Universe, as well as becoming the Women’s Champion for the fourth time in her career, she’s setting the bar high in the Women’s Division. It may be subjective, but most people agree that all of the main event women on the main roster, have had their best matches with Sasha. So even if people complain about what she does, or how she sells, she always seems to find a way to bring the best out of her opponents while elevating the match to feeling like a main event. Is her character work better as a hell? Sure. But she still makes the women’s division feel a lot more…legit…when she’s champion.

5. John Cena- Some of you may think he doesn’t deserve to be on the list because he’s a “Free Agent”. But let me ask this, if he was a free agent…why would he need permission to go to Raw? Even if this is just an attempt at giving Roman Reigns another rub while creating a few high profile matches along the way, it still merits him being on the list. His presence in a match makes it feel immensely more important. Be it only with kids and women, he still sells a lot of merchandise and seems to win over most crowds regardless of if they begin booing or cheering. Plus, if people can get a win over his magical golden shovel, that usually bodes well for their trajectory on the card.
More likely than not, we won’t be seeing any major story swings unless a new wrestler joins the roster or an injury happens. So look for Power Rankings to continue after the next PPV No Mercy.
