4 Tips to Stay Ready in Sharing Your Faith

Anong gagawin mo kung may tao na randomly na lalapit sa iyo at sasabihin na, “Hey! Gusto kong maging Christian, pwede mo bang ituro sa akin kung paano?”

Anong magiging response mo? Ash Christians, kapag pinag-uusapan ang evangelism, alam natin na it’s something na we’re supposed to do, but if you’re like me, maraming pagkakataon na at a loss kung paano ba isheshare ang faith.

The Bible says in 1 Peter 3:15; we should always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.

1. Start With Prayer

Hindi naman ibig sabihin nito na every time na mag sstart ka ng conversation with someone eh, iinterrupt mo sila at ilelead them to prayer sa mismong moment na iyon. What I mean is bago pa mag-simula ‘yung conversation dapat ay nakapag pray ka na.

Ask God na bigyan ka ng wisdom at pang-unawa, yung tamang mga salita na sasabihin at most importantly askGod to give you the ears to be able to hear.

2. Listen and Ask Questions

Lahat ng meaningful relationships start with a conversation and not a presentation. Sobrang essential ng pakikinig when it comes to sharing your faith.

Halimbawa, kung hindi ka nakikinig sa kausap mo you might miss ‘yung sinabi ng tao na nawalan sila ng trabaho at ikaw naman ay nag-raramble about that person’s need for Christ. Totoo naman iyon, pero sa moment na iyon ay hindi iyon ang most helpful thing to say.

Sabi ng isang teacher ko dati, “you have two ears and one mouth so you should listen twice as much as you speak.”

At bukod sa pakikinig, are you asking the right questions? Sa pamamagitan ng pag-tatanong you get to know the person at kung anong pinaniniwalaan niya. It’s very crucuial na kapag nagtatanong tayo eh genuine na nag-cacare ka talaga sa tao, and not just trying to find out kung saan sila mali para ma-correct mo sila.

3. Take Your Time

Marami sa atin na iniisip na kung walang conversion na nangyari sa usapan at pag-share ng Gospel eh nag-fail na tayo as Christians. If you’re caught up sa thinking na ito, balikan mo ang buhay mo dati at kung gaano katagal for you to fully surrender your life to Christ.

Chill ka lang and huwag mong i-pressure nang husto ang sarili mo. Okay lang if it would take a while praa doon sa tao to accept Jesus. God is infinitely more patient kaysa sa ating lahat.

4. Use Appropriate Materials

Sobrang daming available resources na available sa atin ngayon at ang idea na kailangan theology expert ka to be used by God is just a myth! Sa totoo lang kung titignan natin ang Scripture at sa Book of Numbers, makikita natin na even ang isang donkey ay ginamit ng Diyos to do His will!

I suggest Christian videos and short films to get the conversation started. At kung nag-hahanap ka ng great Christian video library, pwede mong i-check out ang yesHEis app for a whole selection.

One thing na magagawa ng kahit sino is to find a Christian video or movie at ipanood ito sa kaibigan. Pagkatapos nilang panoorin eh you can just simply ask them, “What do you think about it?” Kung less than-positive way ang response nila, it could not be the right moment or clip para sa kanila. Just invest in the relationship and be open to try again sa susunod.

At the end of it all, remember that it is the Holy Spirit that makes the true transformation in people. But hopefully these simple tips will help you feel a little more prepared when you’re presented with the opportunity to share Jesus.
