A Savior is Born
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. — Isaiah 9:6
Alam mo ba na during the Christmas season, people are more open to talking about faith and the Gospel? So how do we talk about our hope in Jesus Christ?
A Savior is Born
Christmas is a time we associate with the birth of Jesus, and though hindi naman siya ang time ng actual na birth ni Jesus, the people of Israel were waiting for the time when the prophesied messiah would be born. This was a time when Israel was ruled by the Romans, ang expectations nila was that the messiah would come as a conquering king and save them from the Romans. But the messiah did not come as they King people expected, instead he was born in the most lowly and humble way.
The Lamb of God
This is because Jesus did not come as a conquering king, though he will come in this way in the future. This time, pumunta si Jesus not to conquer, but to save us from something na malaking problema ng tao, our separation from God because of our sins. Because there is a payment to be made for our sins, at si Jesus lang ang makakapagbayad nun. He came as a sacrifice, the Lamb of God.
This the hope that we have, na si Jesus hindi pumunta sa mundo to conquer as a king with His followers. But that He came down so that he could make a way for people to be redeemed and join Him in His kingdom. This is what we can share, na even today people have the opportunity to be with Jesus because of what He did on the cross.
So next time you talk about the Christmas season with friends, pwede mong i-share yung truth na to about Jesus.
