A little bit of history. Tango started to conquer the world from Paris. But
why do we call it Argentinian then? Let me explain.

International Tango Day — 11/12

On December 11, Carlos Gardel, the famous “King of Tango”, was born.
He was an immigrant from France, who was brought to Argentina in early
childhood. When returned to Paris, he received the dance in Europe.

Unfortunately,
it was banned in Germany and Russia as a decadent and philistine dance.
Nowadays, on the 11th of December, they celebrate International Tango
Day ─ a dance festival in Argentina. Do you know anything more passionate than tango about a relationship? Of course, except a new great photo on Facebook for your ex, where you dancing tango in Argentina! Comment, if you agree!
Argentina as a motherland of tango leads the dance competition once a year.
If you are not the one who dances, there will be numerous ways to experience tango around the clock, while you`re in Argentina.

Here are some ideas:
• watch a movie about tango
• stop in at a historic bar and listen to tango singers
• attend a tango-inspired book reading
• or a theater show (including kid-friendly ones)
• take a tango-oriented city tour
• take a tango class!

Most of the festival events are free, but spaces are limited and the majority
are first-served, so arrive with plenty of time to spare to reserve tickets. This is especially true for the dance championship event: the Tango World Cup features over 400 world-class dancing couples competing for the world titles of Tango de Pista and Tango Escenario.

Go to Argentina and tick it in your I-want-to-visit-list!

Don`t forget to share it with your friends!
