Hello Medium readers.

We are Yext Design, and we’re thrilled to be launching today!

The idea of this publication started in 2017. The team was growing, our work was evolving, and everyone was energized beyond belief — but something was missing. I knew we could make a bigger impact at Yext and in the design community. As a design leader and coach, I advocate that personal career fulfillment goes beyond titles or levels — it has more to do with the connection we feel with the purpose and impact of our work.

We each have insights worth sharing that may, one day, inspire and shape the actions of others.

That’s how this publication idea started. But we sat on it for years — the team was too busy to give it attention. In the past 2 months, we made it a legitimate initiative with buy-in from leads across the company. We have been collaborating as a unit better than ever while amassing a wave of stories we think readers can identify with and learn from. Our designers at Yext have amazing experiences and perspectives and are dedicated to contributing to the collective knowledge among Medium writers.

You can expect us to cover topics ranging from team operations to design tool hacks to recruiting approaches. We’ll reveal our culture, discuss problems we’re solving, share epiphanies, and ask for your input along the way.

This vision has long been in the works, but I would be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge Hannah Mussi as the catalyst behind this initiative. She has inspirited the team to reach this moment. 🙏

So without further ado — on behalf of the Consulting, Product, and Marketing Design Teams at Yext — it is my greatest pleasure to invite you to follow us along on this journey as we illuminate the inner-workings and philosophies that make our designers best-in-class.
