Guild Advancement Program (GAP): The Biggest Wins of Season 6
The most recent iteration of YGG’s Guild Advancement Program (GAP) drew the most participation ever in the history of the initiative. Season 6 saw 83,405 total enrollments — almost as many quest enrollments as GAP has seen in the previous five seasons combined.
Questers had 106 quests in total to take on, with 29 game quests across eight games and 77 bounty quests in a larger variety of categories than ever before. This season featured double the games compared to GAP Season 5, new AI bounties to uncover, and higher-tier premium quests to conquer.
Record-Setting Participation in GAP Season 6
The unique participants grew by 28% to 9,674 with 62% of questers completing both game and bounty quests. Total quest enrollments also set new GAP records, with a 121% increase from the 37,700 enrollments in Season 5.
Questers made the most out of the increased quest variety this time around, with GAP players conquering 7.2 quests on average compared to 3.27 last season for a total of 64,223 quest completions, a 360% increase. All in all, a total of 1,524,166 YGG tokens were earned by the YGG community, a massive 380% uplift from Season 5.
The biggest change that questers enjoyed this season was a marked increase in available games and overall quests, with this season’s roster of featured games doubling on Season 5.
The games featured in GAP Season 6 were:
- Guild of Guardians
- My Pet Hooligan
- Nifty Island
- Nine Chronicles
- Parallel
- Pixels
- Rumble Racing Star
- Super Champs: Bullet League
Top community picks Parallel, Nine Chronicles, Super Champs: Bullet League, and Nifty Island all made their GAP debut this season. Longtime GAP favorites also returned, with Pixels making its fourth consecutive appearance, Rumble Racing Star appearing for the second time in a row, and My Pet Hooligan and Guild of Guardians making a comeback into the program.
The most popular games among Season 6 questers were Super Champs: Bullet League with 13,581 enrollments, Nine Chronicles with 11,723 enrollments, and Guild of Guardians with 10,546 enrollments.
A Strengthened Global Community of Gamers
GAP’s Beginner Quests, designed to onboard new players into the YGG ecosystem, included bounties from YGG regional guild partners W3GG and OLA GG. The quests allowed both guilds to drive engagement within their communities through the GAP platform, with W3GG’s quest seeing 1,535 enrollments and OLA GG’s quest drawing 1,854 enrollments with a 99% completion rate.
The season was also chock-full of community events, including a party hosted by Pixelmon icon Kevin de Rug in Nifty Island and a massive Pixels energy party to commemorate the YouTube launch of a discussion around the secrets to building a wildly popular — yet sustainable — web3 game, between YGG co-founder Gabby Dizon and Pixels founder Luke Barwikowski, moderated by Emfarsis Director Leah Callon-Butler.
Aside from showing up for their favorite games, the YGG community also showed up for each other by sharing resources and strategies to dominate the program’s most diverse set of quests thus far. With this GAP season introducing a host of new challenges, guilds provided support to their members through tutorials, guides, livestreams, and more. Synergy Guild, PSG and Sando Gang led the pack in quest completions.
Exploring a New Wave of Bounty Quests
The introductory Welcome to YGG quest led all bounty quests with 5,423 enrollments, nearly a quarter of the season’s 24,010 total bounty enrollments. This gave first-time GAP participants a reward just for signing up on the YGG website, connecting their wallet, and installing a GAP game onto their system.
GAP Season 6 also launched new AI-focused bounties, which drew in 3,095 quest enrollees across the AI data labeling platforms Sapien and Navigate, and the gamified AI data training and robotics application FrodoBots.
The YGG Game Testers Program was likewise well received, providing 2,188 members of the YGG community the opportunity to test web3 games including Xociety, MetaCene, Shardbound, and more.
Premium Rewards for Season Pass Holders
This season, YGG introduced premium quests into GAP, giving players an option to participate in higher-tier quests for Pixels, Parallel, Guild of Guardians, Nifty Island, Super Champs: Bullet League, Nine Chronicles, and Rumble Racing Star. Premium bounty quests under the YGGPH Creators and Game Testing questlines were also available for participants to take on. Of these new quests, Pixels, Nine Chronicles, and Rumble Racing Star drew the most participation during the season.
A total of 2,021 questers, over 20% of all GAP participants, minted YGG’s Premium Season Pass to access exclusive questlines with unique rewards. This included a Pixels Pet NFT and 12-month VIP passes for Pixels, custom YGG racing karts for Rumble Racing Star, and official YGG merch for YGG content creators.
In addition to these exclusive rewards, premium quest participants were also rewarded with bonus YGG Points. On top of the 2x multiplier premium quests provided, the quests for Parallel, Guild of Guardians, My Pet Hooligan, and Nine Chronicles awarded an additional 1.7x points bonus to quest completers due to their difficulty and the time commitment required to achieve them. For instance, the Parallel quest involved attaining a Master rank in the game, a feat only managed by the game’s top 1% of players.
