Guild Advancement Program (GAP): Wrapping Up a New Way to Quest in Season 7
The quest approval period for Season 7 of the Guild Advancement Program (GAP) has officially come to a close, wrapping up one of the most innovative iterations of the program so far. With another crop of great new games to explore, a revamped rewards system, and returning group questing opportunities, GAP Season 7 gave questers a chance to sink their teeth into the program’s new format.
The cycle ran from September 30 to November 4. Thanks to the new GAP rewards system, YGG’s quest approval process ran throughout the season, enabling questers to claim their rewards at any point before the season’s end.
Read on below to learn more about GAP Season 7 participation and the new rewards format.
A Warm Welcome for GAP’s Newest Games
GAP Season 7 bumped up its roster of games from eight to 11, featuring a mix of community favorites for questers to explore.
Arena of Faith, Blade of God X, Mystery Society and Sipher Odyssey made their GAP debut, with Nine Chronicles, Parallel, Pixels, and Rumble Racing Star returning from Season 6. Classic games from earlier iterations of GAP — Axie Infinity, GensoKishi Online and Mighty Action Heroes — also made a comeback.
The season drew 47,964 total quest enrollments and 8,213 total questers. Engagement for GAP quests remained strong, with over 39,000 quest submissions.
Sipher Odyssey led the way in its GAP debut with 8,545 quest enrollments, closely followed by Mystery Society with 8,532 and Arena of Faith with 6,910.
Guild participation was also high, with over 200 guilds participating in the program. The Global Guilds Batallion quest series saw YGG reward 22 of the most active guilds. This was made up of 12 Level 1 guilds indicating at least 20 members completed five quests each, four guilds at Level 2 with over 50 members completing at least five quests, and six guilds hitting Level 3 of the Global Guilds Battalion quest with over 100 guild members successfully finishing five or more quests during the season.
Bringing AI Bounties to a Brand New Audience
Out of the 8,213 total participants, 46% opted to participate in at least one non-game quest. This included AI bounties for Sapien, Navigate and FrodoBots, as well as the YGG Game Testers Program and the Guild Alliance quests.
Beginner Quests were introduced as a new category of quests to help newcomers jumpstart their journey within the YGG ecosystem by enabling them to directly earn YGG tokens as rewards for completing specific quests. Questers could then use these tokens to claim the GAP Season Pass and access Premium Quests or to stake the tokens to improve their Rewards Multiplier when converting their points.
These Beginner Quests, including the Global Creators, Global Guilds, YGG Regions & Partners, and Welcome to YGG questlines, saw 3,028 unique questers take their first steps into the YGG ecosystem.
Premium Quests, Multipliers, and Exploring the Rewards Center
1,443 questers purchased a Season Pass for 25 YGG to maximize their reward-earning opportunities.
The Season Pass opened up premium quests by Arena of Faith, GensoKishi Online, Mighty Action Heroes, Mystery Society, Nine Chronicles, Parallel, and Pixels.
In a major update for Season 7, YGG streamlined its rewards-claiming process via the Rewards Center. To facilitate this, the YGG team brought forward the quest approval process to occur over the course of the season rather than waiting for the season to end.
This change enabled questers to receive their points sooner, allowing them to work their way through the Rewards Map. Questers were able to use their points to unlock a series of reward nodes featuring YGG, RON, and PIXEL tokens, as well as NFTs such as Axies or a Nyang Kit for Ragnarok: Monster World.
This new rewards-claiming system was complemented by the launch of The Stake House, a unique active staking platform designed to make questing through GAP a more rewarding experience. Stakers of YGG tokens on Ronin saw a multiplier applied to their rewards when redeeming points for tokens in the Reward Center. The multiplier increased the more YGG tokens questers staked, up to a maximum of 3.5x.
Over 340,000 YGG tokens have been staked so far, enabling over 900 questers to increase their earnings when claiming tokens in the Reward Center. With Season 8 of GAP in full swing, returning questers are poised to build on their success during Season 7 and conquer new challenges with their current and future guildmates.
