Introducing Guild Advancement Program (GAP) Season 3
Yield Guild Games (YGG) is now launching the third season of its Guild Advancement Program (GAP), following the success of the first two seasons. The GAP has seen significant growth in Season 2, with over 3,000 achievement NFTs minted. This next iteration of the achievement-driven community token distribution protocol will be another opportunity for the guild to reward its members for their contributions with YGG tokens and non-transferable NFTs as they develop their skills and build their Metaverse résumé. Season 3 will officially commence on February 13, 2022, where guild members who are interested in participating can view available achievements from the YGG dapp.
YGG continues to apply community feedback from previous seasons and has evolved the program to incorporate an improved questing system, new games, and the introduction of the GAP Council, among other new and improved initiatives. With this, YGG aims for Season 3 to be the best GAP season yet.
“Our main priority at YGG is to support and foster the growth of our community members who seek to participate and contribute,” said Mark Tan, Community Product Lead at YGG. “We are dedicated to helping our members establish a positive gaming reputation and rewarding those who make a valuable impact. Furthermore, the GAP will serve as one of YGG’s token distribution mechanisms for our valued members, providing them with the necessary incentives to be engaged in guild activities. Our ultimate aim is to improve community and game partner involvement, creating a vibrant and inclusive environment for all.”
What’s New in GAP Season 3
GAP Season 3 will feature over 100 quests, including new game additions such as Crypto Unicorns and Pixels. Participants can also look forward to additional tiers for existing quests, including the Game Testers’ Program. The full list of games wherein achievements can be accomplished are as follows:
- Axie Infinity
- Big Time
- Castle Crush
- Crypto Unicorns
- Legends of Venari
- League of Kingdoms
Season 3 will also bring back non-game achievements to recognize and promote community leaders, beyond in-game activity from partnered games. The achievements will center on areas such as:
- Engagement with Founders’ Coin holders
- Research Ambassadors
- Participating in Web3 Metaversity
- Onboarding new users
- Content creation
- GAP artists
- Community volunteers
“This season, we’ve focused on setting standards and leveling across the entire program,” explained Mark. “There has been a lot of work behind the scenes to define the factors that make up a quest — we’ve considered role, skill level and effort required in coming up with the rewards per quest. This also serves as the foundation to identify the key roles that serve as catalysts in building a thriving gaming community.”
The GAP Council
Set to make its debut in Season 3, the GAP Council is a community-led initiative that aims to build the GAP hand in hand with the community without token governance mechanisms. Its four main areas of responsibility are guiding and onboarding, quest design, quest operations, and status reporting.
Dae, Program Manager at Yield Guild Games, describes the Council as a community-led initiative aimed at aligning the YGG core and the community. “Our common goal is to give ownership to the people that make up the guild and create more opportunities for them to be recognized, maybe even beyond the boundaries of our ecosystem,” said Dae.
Forming the GAP Council marks an important shift in YGG’s priorities as the guild continues to evolve itself and its approach to games. Moving on from solely rewarding in-game activity, the guild is now placing greater focus on identifying and nurturing community leaders.
Though still in its early stages, the Council is already defining its objectives. MonsterLove, the GAP Council Lead, shares that one of the Council’s goals for Season 3 is to improve the onboarding experience for new participants in the program. “We plan to continuously gather and incorporate feedback from participants as they progress through the program. Hopefully, this not only improves the GAP but encourages more guild members to join the quests as well,” said MonsterLove.
How to Participate in GAP Season 3
Similar to Season 1 and Season 2 of the GAP, YGG members will need a YGG Guild Badge to access the quests for Season 3. The Guild Badge can be minted on the Ethereum and Polygon networks.
Here’s how you can participate in GAP Season 3:
- Go to the YGG Dapp Achievements page to see all available achievements, their descriptions and criteria, and the reward pool.
- Head to the YGG Discord and its game-specific channels to get more information on events, tournament schedules and how to participate. All GAP participants are encouraged to coordinate with their respective quest creators on Discord to get all the relevant information they need to complete their desired achievements.
- Find more details on the #gap-announcements as well as #gap-faq channels. Additionally, you can reach out to our Discord Moderators in the #gap-questions-and-support and #general-chat channels.
At the end of Season 3, a GAP leaderboard will be created to recognize participants for being the guild’s most engaged community members.
