Introducing the YGG Managers Cup, an Event for a Greater Cause

With Halloween steadily approaching, YGG with support from Axie Infinity and Axie Alerts PH (AAPH) to celebrate this occasion by organizing the first-ever YGG Managers Cup (YMC), a series of Axie Infinity exhibition games to highlight a wide range of gaming guilds from all over the world, their communities, and their most competitive players.

The YMC aims to demonstrate the competitive nature and the intricacies that help make Axie Infinity what it is, create narratives, and build intrigue around the game’s most ambitious community members.

The first season of YMC will commence on Halloween night (October 31) and run every other Sunday at 10 p.m. SGT (Singapore Time), with the event lasting for a total of six months. The event will include 16 different guilds that will compete in a single-elimination tournament — one match loss, with 15 matches across the six months. Match 15 will be the Grand Final.

The first round will feature YGG going head to head against AAPH. Each guild will showcase its three best players, along with one reserve player. Players are also free to change their lineups throughout the battle, keeping the competition exciting for each match-up.

In the opening match, one player from each team will challenge the other. The losing player will be knocked out, and the next contender will have to defeat the last winner. This will continue until one team has used all three of its players.

The winning team will move on to the next round until only two teams are left and will battle it out for the finals.

There will be no monetary prizes for the tournament champion, but instead an official YGG Managers Cup Season 1 NFT will be awarded to the winner. Sponsors are also open to rewarding outstanding teams and players in the form of merchandise and other prizes.

The event will be hosted by John Sedano live on the YGG official Facebook and Twitch channels.

Playing for Charity

All the proceeds from this event will be donated to charity. YGG has chosen to support Gentle Hands, a child and youth welfare agency committed to providing a home for children in the Philippines who have been orphaned or have experienced neglect or abandonment. Through this donation, YGG will be offering financial aid for 140 children and 45 staff members who all tested positive for COVID-19.

With YGG staking its AXS holdings into the AXS staking pool, YGG will also commit US$10,000 worth of AXS for the charity prize pool. The funds will be donated to Gentle Hands by December 1, 2021 which will be used as a year-end bonus for the organization’s staff members.

YGG also has a dedicated YGG charity fund Ronin wallet that will be open for donations in SLP from the community (see the bottom of the article). The funds raised from this will be added to the charity prize pool, where the winning guild can choose from a list of charities from the Philippines to donate to.

At every event, YGG will be selecting 2 winners to receive YGG premium merch packages from the addresses who donated SLP. YGG’s merch package includes YGG Cap, YGG RGB Mouse mat, YGG Mug, Stickers, and a YGG Bomber Jacket.

Opportunity for Content Creators and Streamers

A clean stream consisting of only visuals and transitions will also be made available on official YGG YouTube channel open to the public. This would allow the community to create their own content on their respective channels or their own version of the stream in their own language.

The clean stream will be made public for interested content creators to host their own streams and share their unique perspectives on the event.

YGG will also be picking the best streams on the basis of quality and community participation to award them with premium YGG merch packages and promote them on YGG’s social media channels a week after every stream.
