LOL Land Launches with 25,000 Players on Opening Weekend
YGG’s debut title, LOL Land, launched on May 23, 2025, with over 25,000 players plunging headfirst into the chaotic fun of the browser-based casual board game in its opening weekend.
Building on its many years of experience connecting Web3 player communities to the best Web3 games, the LOL Land launch also marks YGG’s expansion into game publishing. Built on Abstract Chain, the home of renowned Web3 IP Pudgy Penguins, LOL Land streamlines the reward-driven appeal of Web3 gaming into a cute, approachable package that gamers of all kinds can play anywhere, anytime.

Now, we want to take it a step further and use that knowledge to deliver games that degens everywhere will enjoy.”
Bringing Casual Degen Gaming to the Mainstream
As a nod to both the YGG and Pudgy Penguins communities, numerous high-profile members of the Pudgy Penguins community appear as characters in-game, including Aaron Teng, Rusk0f, KP, and Burnasso. Members of the YGG team also feature heavily in the game, with the entire founding trio of Gabby Dizon, Beryl Li, and Owl of Moistness all included in the game’s collection of playable characters.

Players can collect points and unlock NFTs in LOL Land to qualify for token rewards from a US$10 million rewards pool in YGG tokens. The game features four thematic boards, each with a unique twist. This includes the bustling YGG City, the sunny shores of Beach Day, the festive Carnival, and the frosty Ice World Wonderland, which serves as the main Pudgy Penguins zone in the game.
Other themes are currently under development, including Pirate Cove, Parkside Story, and a special Asia-themed board celebrating the region’s vibrant Web3 gaming community.
Bucketfuls of Hype
YGG officially announced LOL Land’s planned release at WolvesDAO’s Alpha Night in San Francisco, during the Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2025. Following that first reveal, YGG’s Latin American regional guild partner OLA Guild Games (OLA GG) hosted the immersive OLA House event at Gamescom Brazil on May 1–3, where LOL Land stood out as one of the biggest highlights. With the pre-launch hype train running at full speed, LOL Land drew in over 118,000 degens pre-registering for instant access to the game before it dropped on May 23.
On May 24, YGG and Pudgy Penguins Malaysia co-hosted a launch party for LOL Land at Pizza Mansion in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, home to one of the most vibrant Web3 communities in Asia. Gabby, Pudgy Penguins Asia Head Cheryl Law, and Igloo Asia CEO Aaron Teng welcomed the crowd with a rousing speech before they enjoyed a night of pizza, beer, and the opportunity to play LOL Land IRL with a life-sized physical recreation of the board game set up in the party venue.
Members of the YGG team joined in on the fun, including YGG co-founder Gabby Dizon, YGG Pilipinas Country Head Mench Dizon, YGG Pilipinas Head of Business Development Phee Tejada, and YGG Esports stars spamandrice and Sequinox.
Other crews from across Web3 also showed in force to support YGG’s debut game, including frens from Emfarsis, Sovrun, ED3N Ventures, Coins.ph, Pukecast, and the Virtuals Protocol team. Notable guests from the Asian Web3 community also included LongHash Ventures co-founder Shi Khai Wei, Gather Beyond founder and CEO Pichapen Prateepavanich, Sonzai Labs co-founders Ryan Foo and Jamie Ryann Chia, and GamingGrid co-founder YellowPanther.
