New Games, New Quests, and New Skills for the YGG Community in GAP Season 9

--

Season 9 of the Guild Advancement Program (GAP) wrapped on April 12, 2025, following an 8-week run filled with new games, experiences, and challenges for the YGG community to conquer.

This season saw 27,702 questers lock in on instant classics like Vibes, explore the platforms of the newest Future of Work (FoW) partners, OORT and Ta-da, and take on quests together with their Onchain Guilds.

Appeals for claiming Season 9 rewards ran until May 3, except for YGG Game Testers Program quests, which will continue through the first half of May.

Modern Classics Making Their GAP Debuts

GAP Season 9 welcomed a healthy mix of first-timers and returning questers eager to prove themselves and test their skills in gaming and beyond. Of the 27,705 questers who signed up in Season 9, a total of 14,851 new challengers made their way through GAP for the first time.

Questers had 12 games to explore this season, with Aurory: Seekers of Tokane, Immortal Rising 2, and Anichess leading the way in sign-ups. Notably, Aurory had one of the most successful debuts in GAP history, pulling in the highest number of quest enrollments in its first appearance on the program.

The season also drew in 4,340 premium questers looking to maximize their Season 9 rewards. Immortal Rising 2 recorded the most premium quest sign-ups with 3,959, followed by Aurory with 2,718 enrollments. Nifty Island rounded out the top 3 with 2,328 sign-ups.

A New Season of Bounties to Uncover

Keeping with GAP’s focus on providing questers with diverse opportunities to test their mettle and hone their skills, bounties continued to be a big hit. In total, 11,673 questers answered the call on this season’s collection of bounties.

The following bounties led the pack in terms of enrollments:

  • Metaversity — 11,076 quest sign-ups
  • Getting Started — 8,872 quest sign-ups
  • Future of Work — 4,241 quest sign-ups

Metaversity offered the most popular set of bounties this season, rewarding questers for building their professional skills through Metaversity’s bite-sized Crash Courses on productivity tools and techniques, marketing principles, community management strategies, and more. Metaversity also incentivized skilled questers to mentor their fellow community members with the Metaversity Apprentice and Metaversity Mentor quests.

Collaborations with Future of Work partners Navigate, Sapien, and FrodoBots provided community members with an opportunity to explore the latest gigs on each platform. Meanwhile, new partners OORT and Ta-da also joined GAP Season 9, further diversifying the decentralized work experiences available to questers.

Onchain Guilds Bringing the Heat

Onchain Guilds focused on gaming took on guild quests for Anichess, DeFi Kingdoms, HyperPlay, Immortal Rising 2, Mystery Society, and Nifty Island. Meanwhile, guilds developing the next wave of Web3 content creators had the option to pursue the Global Creator Program guild quest. Guilds were also invited to share their stories and experiences as participants of the Metaverse Filipino Worker movement through a dedicated guild quest.

With more work done to refine the user experience for Onchain Guild leaders and members alike in Season 9, guild activity this season remained strong. Out of all Onchain Guilds, 61 guilds enrolled in Season 9’s assortment of guild quests. These guilds also made full use of their treasury wallets, with US$828,835 worth of digital assets stored as of season’s end.

Among the most recent crop of active guilds, several communities distinguished themselves over the season through their teamwork, collaboration, and dedication toward conquering quests:

  • Sando Gang — 922 active members
  • NFT X-STREET — 863 active members
  • PSG — 704 active members

Final validations are in progress for Season 9’s Onchain Guild quest results. Stay tuned for a separate announcement on X.

A Bigger, Better Approach to Rewards

A fresh Rewards Map was introduced for questers who completed the previous season’s challenges, with YGG, RON, and AXS tokens to be claimed. Questers can amplify their prizes by participating in the YGG-RON LP staking rewards program or through The Stake House, which started offering players a higher multiplier this season.

Over 2,000 community members staked nearly 1.2 million YGG tokens throughout the season. This reflects a 56.88% increase over the 765,000 YGG tokens staked by nearly 1,500 questers during Season 8.

The surge in participation demonstrates growing enthusiasm for GAP’s revamped approach to rewards distribution. With the announcement of LOL Land taking place midway through Season 9, questers will soon have another way to amplify their GAP rewards.

Overall, GAP Season 9 saw YGG elevate its industry-leading questing platform even further. Whether through compelling Web3 games, novel decentralized work opportunities, or gamified avenues for professional development, questers took full advantage of this season to level up together with their guilds and the broader YGG community.
