YGG and XPLA Deepen Partnership to Launch Questing and Achievements for the Blockchain’s Game Partners
Yield Guild Games (YGG) and Layer 1 gaming and media blockchain XPLA have signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen their existing partnership. Through this agreement, YGG and XPLA have implemented a token swap initiative and are enhancing their web3 ecosystems by incorporating YGG quests into XPLA’s game partners and integrating YGG achievements into their wallet.
In the second quarter of 2023, YGG took on the role of an initial validator for the XPLA blockchain to build a stronger and more inclusive web3 ecosystem that benefits everyone. Additionally, the guild actively participates in XPLA’s governance activities, ensuring that the needs of YGG’s community are represented within the XPLA ecosystem.
XPLA is a blockchain protocol backed by Com2uS, a leading South Korean company in the mobile and online games industry. Its main goal is to create an ecosystem that facilitates the transition of web2 games to web3. To accomplish this, XPLA utilizes the consensus engine, Tendermint Core, to function seamlessly across various layers of blockchains, from Layer 1 blockchains and Layer 2 sidechains to dapps. Currently, XPLA supports a growing ecosystem of games onboarding to web3, including Com2uS’ own web2 hits, the MMORPG Summoners War: Chronicles and the minigame collection MiniGame Party.
The guild and XPLA collectively exchanged over one million tokens to ensure that both parties are aligned with each other’s interests and so that each side has a meaningful stake in the other as well as enjoy the benefits of their tokens. “This token swap is indicative of our lasting relationship, with YGG’s increased role in the governance of the XPLA network enabling us to have a greater sense of the pulse of the web3 gaming community given their substantial player base,” said Paul Kim, CEO of XPLA. “It further solidifies the ties between YGG and XPLA as we jointly participate in and further blockchain gaming as an industry.”
Through the memorandum, the two organizations have formalized the exploration of further collaborations with YGG regional guild partners, co-creating quests with XPLA’s game partners, and organizing online tournaments to improve player and community engagement in partner games. YGG will also integrate achievements within XPLA’s Vault Wallet and add it as a wallet option on the YGG website. Additionally, the two parties plan to collaborate on future co-marketing campaigns.
