YGG Co-founder Beryl Li to Speak at Saudi Arabia’s Misk Foundation Youth Majlis at World Economic Forum, Davos
YGG co-founder Beryl Li will speak at the Youth Majlis, organized by Saudi Arabia Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s non-profit Misk Foundation (Misk) during the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, on January 20, 2023.
Beryl will join fellow speakers in a session titled “Thriving in the Orange Economy” to delve into WEF topics with a youth-focused perspective.
This year, the sessions organized by Misk will explore the theme “Generation Transformation,” underscoring the importance of harnessing the unique strengths of everyone from all generations to create meaningful, positive change. Beryl will highlight the importance of the creative economy and how it can benefit from the application of digital technologies and automation, the optimization of informed policymaking through data insights, and the provision of fair opportunities for young people in creative fields.
Beryl will also share her thoughts about the opportunities present in web3 and the open Metaverse that can support and upskill creative talent from all over the world.
Misk is a nonprofit organization dedicated to encouraging learning and cultivating leadership in Saudi youth. Established by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in 2011, Misk seeks to build an environment where young people across Saudi Arabia are empowered to hone their creative talents, with a focus on leadership, skills, entrepreneurship and community. The foundation invests in the abilities of young Saudis by organizing initiatives such as internship and accelerator programs, incubators, master classes, and fellowships, toward shaping the future of the kingdom and the rest of the world.
The foundation is hosting its sessions at the Youth Majlis — an Arabic word meaning “sitting room,” where community members gather to discuss pressing issues — the only youth-dedicated pavilion at the WEF Annual Meeting. In 2022, the Youth Majlis in Davos saw more than 1,760 visitors from 42 countries, 14 heads of state and ministers, 200 VIP guests, and 25 speakers.
“Thriving in the Orange Economy” will take place on January 20, 2023, 8:00–8:45 p.m. CET, at Misk’s Youth Majlis, Promenade 8, at the World Economic Forum 2023 Annual Meeting happening in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland.
