YGG Community Airdrop: Snapshot and Qualifications

In the very near future, Yield Guild Games will be proceeding with its planned YGG Community Airdrop. Eligibility for the airdrop is based on a number of factors pertaining to contributions made by guild members and will be guided by a snapshot of Ethereum addresses taken on September 8th, 2021.

This article provides an outline of the qualification requirements for eligible recipients.

Celebrating a Year of Milestones

Since Yield Guild’s inception just one year ago we have built a guild from the ground up, to represent a community of more than 60,000 players today.

During this time, we have onboarded thousands of scholars, acquired numerous in-game assets across several different games, released our first subDAO token (YGGLOK), built out the first phase of our website, launched the YGG token, delivered the first of many YGG NFTs including the YGG Founders Coin and Guild Badge, held many community events, and more.

Now, YGG is developing into the DAO (decentralized autonomous organization) that was outlined in our whitepaper. While we are excited about the many things we are working on behind the scenes, we think it is important to reflect on certain milestones and to acknowledge who has helped us achieve the success we’ve enjoyed to date.

It is our intention with this airdrop to reward our earliest community members who have provided significant value to the guild. While we have no immediate plans to do subsequent airdrops, there will be other opportunities to earn and receive rewards in the future as we continue to grow as a DAO.

About the Airdrop Qualifications

We conducted a snapshot at this block to capture the state of specific Ethereum addresses. This will be cross-referenced with areas of YGG we felt provided the most value to the guild during this important stage.

The airdrop is limited to Yield Guild members only. Member categories qualifying for the airdrop include:

• YGG Founders Coin holders: owns a YGG Founders Coin at time of snapshot.
• Scholars: was an official YGG Scholar at time of snapshot.
• Scholarship Managers: was an official YGG Scholarship Manager at time of snapshot.
• Community Managers: was an official YGG Community Manager at time of snapshot.
• YGG LOK: owned YGGLOK tokens at time of snapshot.
• Play to Earn Council: members invited to a formal Play to Earn Council group to discuss, review, and to make decisions on in-game asset acquisition.
• Tier S Contributors: members who have consistently made significant contributions over a long period of time up to the snapshot date. Tier S contributors consist of a variety of contributors from different areas of the guild. They are defined as follows:

A) General contributors and community helpers

B) Moderation and Discord service contributors

C) Esports and in-game activity contributors

D) Community event contributors

While we can’t disclose further details of the airdrop at this moment, we can tell you that it is massive in scope and ambition — unlike anything that has preceded it.
