Yield Guild Games (YGG) has established a partnership with Gallery, a social platform for NFTs where collectors can curate and display their digital collections in a simple and minimalistic way, as well as connect with other fellow collectors in the space.

This partnership will enable the first 900 YGG Founders Coin and Guild Badge holders to an exclusive whitelist to mint General Membership Cards. This will be done via a snapshot of the holders of the required NFTs.

  • Snapshot date: 8 June 2022
  • Gallery General Membership Card minting date: 9 June — 11 June 2022

The General Membership Card is free to mint, aside from the gas fees that need to be paid (in ETH).

If you didn’t get a chance to mint a Gallery Membership card, all YGG Founders Coin and Guild Badge holders are guaranteed exclusive access to the platform’s closed beta.

The main aim of Gallery is to build a crypto-based network and social layer for collectors to curate their NFTs, express themselves through their pieces, and connect with others. Gallery provides collectors with the opportunity to take real ownership of their NFTs and connect with other collectors, whether they hold some of the same pieces or just admire each other’s collections.

Currently, Gallery is in closed beta while the platform builds out social features. With this partnership, Gallery is offering the YGG community early access to this version of the closed beta to onboard communities that are aligned with its values.

In order to access the closed beta, a General Membership Card is needed. Once this card is minted, members can sign up and create a Gallery. Users are free to arrange their NFTs in any way they like, alone or grouped together, and offer descriptions of both individual pieces and entire collections.

General Membership Cards provide access to creating and managing an account on Gallery, as well as a members-only chat featuring previews to new features and voting rights on product decisions.

“Gallery is a social platform for people to express themselves and find belonging online via the things they own,” said Mike Wen, founder of Gallery. “We believe communities are core to everything to do, and we are more than thrilled to be partnering with YGG to onboard the strongest NFT gaming community onto Gallery.”

The platform is only able to view and verify NFT ownership. The platform will never request access to edit or manage NFTs or any part of the wallet. As of date, Gallery currently supports NFTs on Ethereum and is planning to add support for Tezos, Polygon, and Solana NFTs later in 2022.

Recently, the platform has raised a US$2.69 million round led by Collab+Currency, along with Distributed Global, Lattice Capital, Palm Tree Crew (Kygo), Galaxy Interactive, FlamingoDAO, Scalar Capital, The LAO, Santiago Santos, Gabby Dizon, Deeze, Greg Isenberg, pplpleasr and Jess Sloss.

In the future, the social side of Gallery will reach its full potential. The platform already features a rudimentary feed and is just about to roll out a “follow” feature, but it will also be working on liking, commenting, and a more enhanced feed.
